Bibi has disappeared again and doesn't write anything to Pin. Dokko is outraged at how insensitive young people sometimes are, arguing that Pin could have invested a sense of loyalty into his creation. Barry notes that anyone can talk, but doing it yourself is a different story.

This inspires Dokko to create his own companion with a focus on the most important element: loyalty. He thus reads up on how to create a golem in several old books and molds a clay form (with sticks as antlers). He inserts a photo of himself in the golem's mouth to program loyalty and runs him with electrical discharges, bringing the golem to life. The next day, Barry comes to his friend and invites him to go fishing. Dokko refuses and hides his creation behind the door. Life with a golem turns out to be unbearable; he has the consciousness of a child, is very clumsy, clingy and woefully unaware of his own strength.

On a rainy evening, Dokko flees to Barry's house and asks to save him. He tells Barry that he has locked the golem at home, but knows he will break out soon. Meanwhile, the golem gets out of Dokko's house and tries to force its way inside Barry's. The only thing that saves the two is the rain, which melts the golem down because Dokko forgot to bake him. He is saddened by the loss but implies he'll make a new one with a focus a better most important element: independence.

Tropes:

  • Bad Vibrations: When the golem approaches Barry's house, a cup of tea starts shaking, as Dokko realises his creation has found him.
Dokko: (apathetically, looking at the cup shaking) I knew it, he's here already!
Barry: (nervously) It could just be a small draft.
    (The cup falls down)
Barry: Ah! Okay, a large draft!
  • Bookends: Both in the beginning and the end of this episode, Dokko and Barry are seen fishing on the wooden pier.
  • Continuity Nod: The photo Dokko puts into the golem's mouth is a frame from "The Butterfly".
  • Golem: Although it's never referred to as such, Dokko's creation is very clearly one; not only is it made of clay, it is even animated by a piece of paper placed in its mouth as in Jewish folklore (the paper has a photo of Dokko on it rather than any text though, but it's relevant to the story). That being said, it also veers into Frankenstein's Monster territory as Dokko uses lightning to bring the golem to life.
  • Shout-Out: Dokko hides the golem from Barry behind the door, in a reference to Sartorius' introduction scene from Solaris (1972).
  • Skyward Scream: Before melting, the golem screams loudly into the sky.
  • The Vitruvian Pose: The image of a golem in one of Dokko's books is presented like this.
