Tropes

  • Becoming the Mask: Even if the Ushijimas weren't a real family, Hikaru eventually considered Tasuke and Kimiko his parents. As a result, Kimiko's death hits him hard.
  • Call-Back:
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Daiji pulling a gun on Ikki and Sakura, with everyone present unmorphed.
  • I Did What I Had to Do: Tasuke justifies leaving Kimiko to die after Hikaru calls him out for it.
  • Killed Off for Real: Kimiko Ushijima is mortally wounded and left for dead as some Hell Gifftarians and Giff Juniors were sent to attack one of Weekend's shelters.
  • Manipulative Editing: Someone at Fenix very creatively edits footage of Weekend helping people out (including Kimiko pointing a gun at a civilian attempting to endanger himself and a nonchalant Vice relaxing in a car) to paint them as villains who are attacking civilians instead.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Having never gave them a chance to explain themselves regarding Akemi's death and futher watching Fenix's Manipulative Editing of Weekend incurring Giff's wrath for seemingly harming "worshippers", Daiji still believes Ikki killed Akemi and that his needless meddling with Weekend only ended up in more senseless sacrifices.
  • Wham Shot:
    • A Hell Gifftarian striking down Kimiko, killing her.
    • Daiji advancing on a Weekend shelter with some Giff Juniors in tow.
