Sento: Pandora’s Box, which contains incredible energy, has finally been opened by the extraterrestrial entity, Evolt. Kamen Rider Build aka Kiryuu Sento fights against Evolt in order to rescue Banjou, whose body has been absorbed, but ends up being possessed instead.
Ryuga: Hey, are you really Sento? Or Evolt?
Sento?: I’m obviously Sento.
Ryuga: Then make some coffee for me!
Sento?: Here you go.
Ryuga: Yuck! You’re really Evolt, aren’t you?!
Evolt: Oh well, you got me there. Here’s Episode 37 for you.
Sento's sacrifice allowed Evolt to be temporarily hindered, but is there anything our protagonists can do without Sento?
Episode Tropes:
- The Bad Guy Wins: Evolt manages to attain the energy he needed to activate the Evol Trigger and achieve his final form, Black Hole.
- Badass Normal: Even without his powers, Ryuga proves he deserves the mantle of Kamen Rider by taking on Evolt anyways without any powers. And then he starts building his powers back up after taking away Evolt’s Dragon Evolbottle that was made from his essence.
- Big Damn Heroes: When Evolt gives an opening for Fu and Rai to counterattack Kazumi, Gentoku steps in and saves Kazumi, and then proceeds to defeat both brothers with one Crack Up Finish for each of them.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Evolt early on hits Kazumi with one Evoltic Finish so hard that it causes his Robot Sclashjelly to leak oil from the impact. Later on, Evolt just shows how one-sided Ryuga’s attempts to hit him are until the Dragon Evolbottle started resonating with him and enhanced his attacks, signaling that he apparently was strong enough to transform again.
- Depower: When Evolt bonded with Ryuga, he made sure to take back all of his genetics, which meant that Ryuga could no longer transform once Evolt left his body.
- Evil Is Petty: The fact that Sento managed to delay Evolt’s plans by being unable to maintain Hazard Level 6 has him seriously peeved. So while he could initiate a Death of Personality on Sento any time he wants, he’d prefer to let him sit inside his mind and watch as Evolt personally kills his loved ones using his body.
- Mass Teleportation: Small scale version, but Vernage reemerged from dormancy to teleport Nascita itself to a different location after sensing that Evolt was coming.
- Oh, Crap!: Ryuga, Kazumi, and Gentoku were going to take out Evolt with a triple Rider Kick finish, but then Evolt uses the Evol Trigger to try and absorb the energy from their combined attack. It worked.
- Stolen Good, Returned Better: Ryuga starts this episode off without his Hazard Level, effectively unable to fight off Evolt. But after taking the Dragon Evolbottle off of Evolt’s bottle holder, he is able to fight his way back into being able to transform, first into Great Cross-Z Dragon, and then back into Cross-Z Magma, now even stronger than before.
- Suddenly Shouting: Evolt upon realizing he screwed himself over by performing a Body Surf without fully checking if Sento could do what he needed starts off in his typical relaxed way...then suddenly screams at Sento for screwing him over so loud it causes ripples in a nearby pond.Evolt: Now I can't control the power of Pandora's Box. Hehe...HOW DARE YOU?!
- We Can Rebuild Him: Ryuga and Kazumi seek out Gentoku so that he could potentially turn Ryuga back into a Rider, only for Gentoku to subvert this trope saying that he doesn’t know how to do the operation and that the process requires a genetic alteration by Evolt in addition to the Nebula Gas dosage.
- Wham Line: "Who are you?...Sento?" "Who is that?...My name is Katsuragi...Takumi Katsuragi."
