While they head towards the genetics lab looking for help, Darius and the others are reunited with Bumpy and have to continue evading the pursuing Indominus Rex it soon becomes clear that Jurassic World has a few secrets.

  • Adults Are Useless: With communications across the island screwed up, the only adult the campers run into is Eddie, who they expect to shepherd them out of danger… but Eddie has gone crazy from fear, and he immediately tries to steal their transport and ditch them.
  • Apple of Discord: Brooklynn’s phone. While it initially caused a lot of arguing between Brooklynn and Sammy (Sammy stole it and denies it), it doesn’t really inhibit their progress for long until it slips out of Sammy’s pocket during a bumpy stretch on the road, shocking everyone so much that Yaz (who until now was Sammy’s most vocal defender) gets distracted and crashes the van.
  • Blatant Lies: When Ben falls behind bringing Bumpy along, he tries hiding the little Ankylosaurus from the others in the bushes and claiming he’s doing no such thing… despite Bumpy clearly being visible.
  • Cat Scare: After the campers come across a wrecked Gyrosphere and a dead Ankylosaurus, both recently destroyed by the I-rex, they hear something moving around in the tall grass nearby. They try to hide around the Gyrosphere… only for Bumpy to pop out of the grass.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends just as Yaz crashes the ACU transport.
  • Continuity Nod: The campers come across a broken, empty Gyrosphere next to a dead Ankylosaurus at one point – the campers never learn what happened, but anyone who saw Jurassic World knows what took place.
  • Damage-Proof Vehicle: The ACU transport gets knocked around the jungle by Kenji’s terrible driving, bashed about a hundred feet off the road by the Indominus, and remains largely intact and able to move fast enough to drive the campers out of danger. Presumably, it’s custom-made to take a few knocks from dinosaurs.
  • Died on Their Birthday: Eddie is killed and eaten by the Indominus rex on his birthday.
  • Dirty Coward: Eddie steals the campers’ ACU transport and tries to flee in it himself. This is particularly egregious because there was plenty of room for all of them in the transport, but Eddie is so crazed with terror that he doesn’t care.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Justified and downplayed; Kenji has his learner’s permit, but is still learning to drive. The Indominus almost gets the transport because he’s so new at driving it never occurs to him to shift into a higher gear, and he ends up driving them off-road… in the middle of a jungle.
  • Hope Spot: After fleeing the Indominus, the campers find a van, and use it to look for help in the genetics lab they saw two days prior. The only remaining adult there has gone mad, tries to steal the van, and gets eaten by the I-rex.
    • Later, Yaz (the only competent driver) is driving away from the Indominus along the jungle road, they’ve made contact with Roxie and Dave, and it looks like they’re going to reconnect at the main park further south… until Yaz gets distracted and the van crashes.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Eddie tries to steal the campers’ van… but gets knocked off the road and killed by the I-rex before he can go far.
  • Laughing Mad: Eddie has lost his marbles by the time the campers find him, laughing wildly and announcing they’re all doomed.
  • The Load: Bumpy is this, being noisy and slow when the campers are trying to avoid the I-rex.
  • Oh, Crap!: Roxie and Dave, having been kept waiting for Claire for hours, finally get impatient and Roxie opens a door to a supply cabinet full of walkie-talkies... which start filling with human screams, dinosaur roars, and then silence as the ACU is butchered by the I-rex. At this moment, Roxie and Dave figure out that something very bad is going on.
  • Rapid Aging: Despite being hatched only a couple days ago, Bumpy has grown from the size of a hamster to the size of a Saint Bernard. Justified in that Dr. Wu mentioned the dinosaurs were genetically engineered to grow much faster than their wild counterparts.
