Johnny has to take over for Santa Claus after he accidentally breaks his arm, thinking he was a burglar breaking into his house.

Tropes:

  • Answer Cut: When Johnny asks where “that freak with the big glowin’ nose” is, Rudolph is shown fighting off The Grinch’s soldiers who are shooting at him with laser guns.
  • Badass Santa: Santa tells Johnny “I’ll bust your fat head” if he doesn’t do the right thing and deliver the rest of the presents to all the good little boys and girls of the world. He also gives Johnny boxing gloves and a mouth guard so they can duke it out again next year.
  • The Cameo: Scooby-Doo makes an appearance in this episode. His Christmas gift is a coupon for 10 weeks of “Sthpeetch Therapy”.
  • Chimney Entry: Santa Johnny enters Little Suzy’s house this way.
  • Christmas Episode: When Johnny thinks someone is breaking into his house, he accidentally injures Santa and has to fill in for him on Christmas Eve.
  • Circling Birdies: After Santa gets knocked out by Johnny, a bunch of green elves can be seen circling his head.
  • Clothes for Christmas Cringe: Subverted. The Mayor of Aron City is actually quite pleased with the new underwear he got from Santa Johnny.
Narrator: To the Mayor of Aron City, a new pair of shorts, so he’s wearing clean undies when he robs and cavorts.
  • Corrupt Politician: On Santa’s list, it’s shown that almost every senator listed is getting coal.
  • Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and Nixon:
Johnny: On Yeltzen! On Nixon! On...Stinky? On Rose! On - hey, where’s that freak with the big glowin’ nose?
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: While Johnny is delivering gifts, a sign can be seen that says “Gotham 14 Miles”.
  • Full Moon Silhouette: When Johnny drives Santa’s sleigh past the full Christmas Eve moon.
  • Hit Flash: An explosion of different colors and shapes is shown when Johnny karate kicks Santa in the face.
  • Injured Limb Episode: Johnny accidentally breaks Santa’s arm, which prevents him from being able to deliver the rest of his gifts.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: The Mayor’s wife thinks he’s cheating on her because Santa Johnny accidentally delivered his mom’s gift to her, which was a fur coat with Bunny’s name on it.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Johnny, being the idiot that he is, sees Santa with his bag of toys, classic outfit, and sleigh pulled by flying reindeer and STILL thinks he’s a burglar. Because of this case of Mistaken Identity, Johnny incapacitates the poor man and has to fill in for him before Christmas is ruined.
  • The Parody Before Christmas: It’s even a Rhyming Episode to reflect this reference.
  • Rolling Pin of Doom: The Mayor’s wife hits him on the head with a rolling pin when she hears that he’s still out “cavorting”. And then again when she thinks he’s cheating on her with Bunny Bravo.
  • Saving Christmas: Johnny does indeed save Christmas by delivering all the presents for Santa before the end of the night. Of course, he was the one who endangered it in the first place.
  • Shout-Out:
    • One of the names listed on the nice list was "Sen. Puffnstuff". This is a reference to the character from the children's show, H.R. Pufnstuf.
    • Johnny addresses King Raymond as "Magilla", in reference to the Hanna-Barbera character, Magilla Gorilla.
    • Scooby-Doo's speech therapist is listed as "Cindy Brady", a character from the famous TV show, The Brady Bunch, who also had a lisp.
  • Special Guest: Adam West narrates this episode.
  • Subbing for Santa: It’s only right that Johnny steps in for Santa on Christmas Eve, considering it’s his fault that Santa’s arm is broken in the first place.
  • Take That!: When Bunny falls asleep watching It's a Wonderful Life, the narrator remarks that after being played four times already that day, Jimmy Stewart gets boring.
  • World Tour: Fittingly, Johnny travels all over the world in this episode in order to deliver gifts for Santa.
