Infinity Train: Whittering Roots: A small one-shot that asks "What if Yeardley was the one who got on the Infinity Train?"


This fanfic contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: In Blossoming Trail, Yeardley's a misogynistic bully Driven by Envy and spite over Chloe being able to match him at baseball. Here, he actually attempts to interact nicely with Chloe, offering her some of his Safari Balls.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Chloe is shown to be more standoff and aloof compared to her Blossoming Trail counterpart, accusing Yeardley of hogging all of the Safari Balls despite her only being here to observe.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Yeardley, the boy who sat behind Chloe and said "My life is a work in progress" is the focus of this story.
  • Book Dumb: Yeardley, given how his father is heavily disappointed in his grades.
  • Missing Child: Yeardley's sister went missing on a train. Said sister's name? Lucy.
  • Parental Favoritism: Yeardley's father is always crowing over his older sister getting good marks at school.
  • Related in the Adaptation: In this universe, it turns out that Lucy, one of the children of the Apex, is Yeardley's little sister.
