When a heatwave strikes Seaside, Arlo is tasked with watching Ansel's yacht and soon things go out of control when his friends convince him to take it for a ride.
Tropes:
- An Aesop: Though you can expect your parents to be upset with defying their orders, they can never replace you and love you for all time.
- Easily Forgiven: Even though Ansel is disappointed in Arlo for disobeying him and sinking the yacht, he nevertheless immediately forgives him for it.
- Face Death with Dignity: Arlo ties himself to one of the yacht's palm trees and attempts to sink himself with it, feeling sorry for breaking the promise he made to his dad.
- First-Name Basis: In case Arlo gets disowned by Ansel again, he practices addressing him by name instead of "Dad". Bertie notes at this.
- Freak Out: When Arlo realizes the yacht is far out at sea and he forgot to watch Seaside, he flips.
- Gainax Ending: Peggy finds the sunken Ansel statue and flirts with it.
- HA HA HA—No: Near the end, Arlo suggests he give him an allowance to pay it off. Ansel giggles, then bluntly says, "Don't push it."
- Heat Wave: The central conflict of the episode.
- Instant Costume Change: Bertie rips off her dress revealing her swimsuit underneath.
- Loophole Abuse: Marcellus convinces Arlo he's still technically watching the boat while he and his friends are on it.
- Toxic Friend Influence: Marcellus convincing Arlo to abandon his duty at watching the yacht in favor of joining the others in the pool seems like this.
