Recap / I Carly S 04 Ep 10 I Party With Victorious

Go To

iParty With Victorious is a special crossover between iCarly and Victorious. It only counts as an iCarly episode, serving as the 10th episode in the 4th season.

Carly discovers her boyfriend Steven Carson has been cheating on her with Tori Vega, so the gang flies out to Los Angeles where they meet Tori and the gang from Hollywood Arts to get revenge on him.

Tropes:

  • Advertised Extra: Despite being one of the major cast members, Cat doesn't say much due to her vocal cord injection, instead relying on her speaker headband to say her lines. She only has a total of three spoken lines before the Big Finale Crowd Song.
  • Alternate Continuity: Possibly. In Sam & Cat, Sam and Cat do not recognize each other upon meeting in that show despite having scenes together in this episode (though their interactions were very brief). This also extends to Jade, Robbie and Freddie, who appeared together in the Sam & Cat episode "#TheKillerTunaJump". This suggests either "iParty With Victorious" is non-canon (which is possible since the events of this episode are never referenced in either iCarly or Victorious) or both casts had a Forgotten First Meeting (which is also not implausible, considering that Cat couldn't talk at this point and the iCarly crew spend more time interacting with Tori than the rest of the group, among other details).
  • Amicable Exes: Spencer and the plastic surgeon Monie. They have broken up a while ago, but she’s still nice enough to use her skills to disguise the iCarlys in order to infiltrate a party.
  • Butt-Monkey: Sinjin as usual. When he is playing a surfing simulator and looks poised to beat the level, the game malfunctions and the board he is standing on flips backwards which sends him flying out the window and into the hot tub below where Beck, Jade, Sikowitz, and Spencer are. They don't seem concerned that he could be hurt and instead yell at him that they are in the middle of the game and go back to playing it.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Subverted in Carly. When Freddie is fawning over Tori, Carly is visibly annoyed by it to the point where she chucks an orange at his back and threatens to do it again if he keeps it up. Granted, she had a boyfriend at the time, but maybe she hated that she was giving another girl the attention he usually reserves for her.
  • Continuity Nod: Shelby Marx is mentioned when Freddie comments on Tori's resemblance to the latter, as a nod to them being portrayed by the same actress.
  • Crossover: As the title suggests with Victorious.
  • Dance Party Ending: The crossover ends with the casts from both shows singing karaoke to a mashup of their theme songs, titled "Leave it All to Shine".
  • Extra-Long Episode: Much like iGo to Japan this episode is triple length and is considered to be a television movie. This is taken up to eleven with the extended version that was released a few months after the initial episode rounding it up to about an hour and a half.
  • Humiliation Conga: How the iCarlys and Tori expose Steven, complete with "RANDOM HUMILIATION!".
  • It's All About Me: Rather than miss the party due to having to babysit kids as a favour to Lane, Trina drags said kids to the party.
  • Latex Perfection: Averted with the iCarlys when they use it to sneak into the party without being recognized. Instead of being played by different actors, they all are the same ones, but with actual prosthetics.
  • Lost Voice Plot: Cat comes down with a case of vocal nodules, causing her to lose her voice temporarily.
  • No Sympathy: Jade and Sikowitz are less concerned about Sinjin being thrown out of a window and nearly drowning over the fact he interrupted what they and Beck were doing in the jacuzzi.
  • Oh, Crap!: Steven freaks out pretty damn hard when he realizes the gang has not only just exposed him, but did so on iCarly for the world to see.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Averted with the plastic surgery that the iCarlys use to sneak into the place to find Steven. It genuinely hides their real identity.
    • Played straight with Gibby. When he points out that he doesn’t have a disguise, the plastic surgeon gives him one that only involves a hat, sunglasses, and a mole.
  • The Sociopath: Steven has hints of this. He was dating Carly and Tori at the same time for their appearances alone, gave them the same bracelet and pays them the exact same compliment, "one of a kind". It's hinted he did this to other girls he dated as well.
  • Special Guest: Kenan Thompson as himself.
  • Synthetic Voice Actor: Cat's headband speaks in a robotic computerized manner.
  • The Thing That Would Not Leave: Kenan and Andre have to deal with the Panda, an annoying guest at the party who shows up uninvited and spanks people.
  • Underwear Swimsuit: Gibby and Spencer come upon Kenan Thompson's jacuzzi in his house. After the former suggests the latter to get in, Spencer strips to his underwear before doing so since he doesn't have a swimsuit.
  • The Unreveal:
    • The episode ends without ever showing who the Panda is. However, according to online sources, the Panda was actually T-Bo.
    • Though Socko is physically seen for the first time, all we see of him is his arm.
  • Voice for the Voiceless: When Cat loses her voice due to vocal nodules, she uses a speaker headband that works via Bluetooth to do the talking for her.
  • You Look Familiar: Victoria Justice previously portrayed Shelby Marx in the eponymous episode, but appears in this crossover reprising her role as Tori Vega from Victorious. Freddie lampshades that the two look very similar.
