Airdate: on or before Tuesday, May 1, 2001

Marzipan and Strong Bad's parties just happen to fall on the same day, but Strong Bad's seems to fall apart...

Tropes

  • As Long as It Sounds Foreign: Strong Sad's "Polynesian Prose" is just vaguely Hawaiian-sounding gibberish, including the phrase "kahlua and cream" at one point.
  • Awkward Poetry Reading: Strong Sad's supposed Polynesian Prose is just him mumbling faux Hawaiian straight from a book.
  • Joke Name Tag: Strong Bad gives everyone "Crap For Brains" nametags, so he can call everyone Crap For Brains.
  • Meaningful Background Event: Homestar is "doing something" at the beginning of the toon.
  • Party Scheduling Gambit: The toon has Strong Bad throwing a marshmallow roast at the same time as Marzipan's luau. The invitations even say "Same time as Marzipan's stupid Luau". Even then, people's attendance had more to do with the fact that they expected Marzipan's to suck (since she's a known granola girl and willing associate of terminally gloomy bore Strong Sad) than they expected Strong Bad's to be particularly jumpin'.
  • Running Gag: Marzipan practicing pronouncing "ukulele" (as "oo-koo-lay-lay").
  • Shout-Out: Strong Sad's recitations include the phrase "Meka Leka Hi Meka Heiny Ho".
    • When Homestar spills the beans about Strong Bad's party, the invite appears with a Spinning Newspaper effect accompanied by the well-known '70s–'80s CBS "Special Presentation" musical stinger.
  • Stock Sound Effect: When everyone dashes off to Marzipan's party, they make the traditional Hanna-Barbera "bongo run" sound. When they arrive at the party, they come to a stop to a "tire screech" sound, also made famous by Hanna-Barbera.
  • Urine Trouble: Homestar urinates on firewood used at Strong Bad's party, thanks to thirty-two glasses of melonade.
