Tropes
- Adaptational Villainy: Fred Flintstone from the original show was a flawed individual to be sure, but he wasn't a crime lord or abusive husband. Nor was Barney Rubble The Starscream to said mob-empire.
- Insanity Defense: Harvey manages to win the case when he makes an argument that the various head-injuries Fred gets (usually from bowling ball mishaps) has given him a psychosis, thus not making him responsible for his actions.
- Luxury Prison Suite: During his brief time in the slammer, we see Fred getting his nails done and a cop prividing him with an impressive spaghetti dinner while he talks business with Harvey.
- Mythology Gag: Throckmorton's opening speech to the jury is an altered version to the lyrics of the opening theme to The Flintstones.
- Redemption Equals Death: It's revealed that Judge Mightor was on Fred's payroll. When he decides to stop taking bribes and do the right thing, the mob has him whacked under a large rock.
- Running Gag: Fred or one of his associates makes a veiled threat to Harvey, he innocently ponders "wonder what that means," followed by him waking up the next morning with an animal head in his bed (Quick Draw McGraw, Jabberjaw and Gloop/Gleep), a reference to the infamous horse-head scene from The Godfather.
