- Badly Battered Babysitter: Handy has this trope in spades. Though this less of Cub giving Handy a hard time and more of Handy's general unluckiness, and lack of arms.
- Bittersweet Ending: Even if Handy died in the end, he at least kept Cub safe.
- Bottle Episode: The entire episode takes place in Pop's living room.
- Comedic Sociopathy: When Handy impales the binky into his eye, Cub stops crying and begins to laugh at him.
