Monroe is having a bad day. That other guy is about to have a worse day.

He had them brought before the court, and a judgement was handed down.

Monroe is abducted by the Wesenrein and subjected to brutal, barbaric treatment. Matters worsen when an escape attempt shows him what the Wesenrein do to those they deem impure, and Monroe is next on trial.

Needing all hands on deck to find their missing friend, Nick and Hank bring Wu into the fold. Juliette offers Rosalee support while going through her own crisis.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Abandoned Warehouse: Monroe is held in an abandoned factory.
  • Absolute Xenophobe: Sadly, Wu's initial reaction to learning about Wesen is asking if anyone's doing anything to hunt them down. He's discouraged by Nick's explanation that they're not all bad, implying that his reaction stems from bargaining. (Basically, he's asking, "Can't we make this go away?")
  • All Just a Dream: As Rosalee waits at the house with Juliette, she starts haranguing her about the case, why it's taking so long, getting increasingly aggressive as Juliette's headache gets worse. Finally, Juliette's stress peaks and she woges, but Rosalee still won't leave her alone and Juliette tears out her throat. Then she wakes up.
  • Bestiality Is Depraved: The Wesenrein's view of Monroe and Rosalee's marriage.
Guard: A Blutbad does not lie with a Fuschsbau!
  • Call-Back: Like Trubel before him, Wu expresses concern that Nick and Hank are taking him to a creep trailer in the woods to kill him.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: The other captive Monroe briefly spoke to is impaled and burned on a stake.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Monroe is subjected to this treatment during the abduction.
  • Putting on the Reich: The Wesenrein are a charming blend of Nazis and the KKK.
  • The Guards Must Be Crazy:
    • The cop guarding Monroe and Rosalee's house got out of the car to check on a guy in a hoody without calling it in. The next episode reveals this was a lie: he's Wesenrein and part of the abduction.
    • Monroe is left with one bored teenage guard... but he's shackled, so it'll be fine, right? Nope! He overpowers the guard by beating him with his chain and runs like hell. He gets quite a distance, possibly only getting caught because he was shocked by the sight of Terry's impaled and burned remains.
  • Shout-Out: The Wesenrein "robes and masks" look echoes the Death Eaters in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
  • Welcomed to the Masquerade: Nick and Hank fetch Wu from the drunk tank to take him to the trailer and bring him up to speed on the Wesen world.
