Ramen Travels with Cassius

With the battle against the Central Axis ending in a victory, the crew spends some time after for a much needed sabbatical. Cassius is no exception as he uses this time to indulge in his newest interest, ramen.

While eating out, he overhears about the restaurant he's at being adorned with one star and would eventually set his sights on such restaurants for his ramen journey, with the elusive one-star Delicacy Den being his next destination.

Tropes

  • Cutting Corners: The reason that caused Aburaboshi Ramen's closure is due to the chef subconsciously doing this to boost profit and proficiency. After being called out on this, the chef redoes the bog ramen without falling into this trope, earning him the musketeers' respect.
  • Edible Theme Naming: The names of the Ramen Musketeers are Egge, Porkslice, and Bambue.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Despite being very harsh to the chef of Aburaboshi Ramen, the Ramen Musketeers have a good reason for giving the restaurant no stars. The chef is Cutting Corners, affecting the quality of his best dish.
  • Jerkass Realization: After trying out the new and improved bog ramen, the Ramen Musketeers realize they stopped being ramen lovers and became more like critics down the line, deciding to go back to their roots.
  • Lost My Appetite: Downplayed. While Cassius is still willing to eat more ramen, he grows tired of eating large ramen dishes and wanted to calm down by eating Aburaboshi's nostalgic bog ramen.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: While he already knows that Cassius is getting overweight, Isaac falls into this trope due to him indirectly encouraging Cassius to be even more overweight by introducing him to a pub and having him be a regular there.
  • Tastes Better Than It Looks: The Chocolate Parfait Ramen from Sweets Kingdom is infused with chocolate from noodles to soup. Despite the unusual combination, Cassius and a few others with him finds the dish to be delicious.
