Full Metal Man VIII: The Last Mission

Yngwie received a letter that's clearly a cry for help and written by a child. Main problem is the letter is ten years old by the time it arrived, meaning Yngwie has to nothing go off of to help his daughter. Despite that, this lit a fire in his eyes and he decides to go on one last adventure before calling it quits.

In the island of Roanne, the resistance force of Rie Famille has pushed their government into a floating fortress with nowhere to run. Uncertain if the government has more tricks up their sleeves, the resistance calls for Yngwie, counting on his past experience with the place.

Tropes

  • 11th-Hour Superpower: Yngwie's weapon turns into a greatsword at the end of the event and saves the Captain at the last minute from being killed by Lukav.
  • And the Adventure Continues: Despite this event supposed to be Yngwie's last hurrah, Lukav being Not Quite Dead is enough for him to continue going on with his adventures and sticking with the crew.
  • Godzilla Threshold: The existence of Socialis is enough for both the resistance and the government to call for a ceasefire, then a truce.
  • Government Conspiracy: The Nightmare of Rire is supposed to be a manhunt for Lukav's father due to him kidnapping the president's child. The search went nowhere, so the government went with the nuclear option and kill all parents in the village.

  • Like a Son to Me: Despite not being his biological parent, Yngwie also considers Lukav as his son, considering Erika treats like an older brother.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Subverted. Erika's mother was already pregnant when Yngwie first met her and Yngwie himself is infertile. Despite this, he still sees Erika as his kid and extends that same notion to Lukav, giving him enough motivation to rescue him.
  • The Mole: Heinrich is colluding with Lukav and is only with the government so he could sell a sample of Socialis to the black market.
  • Not Quite Dead:
    • After being almost killed by a Socialis clone, Lukav uses his strength to fuse the primal beast's activation key into his body and cheat death.
    • Even though the airship Lukav is contained in exploded, Yngwie and Anderson still detecting Socialis through their shield is enough for them to consider that he's still out there.
  • Possessing a Dead Body: The metamorphosis that the hosts of Socialis goes through kills them, effectively giving all control to the primal beast clones.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: Lukav's father kidnapped the president's child in retaliation to the government's carelessness, who eventually regrets his actions. The resistance is made in response to Lukav wanting to atone for his father's sins.
