He remains apart from all the villagers and espouses his philosophy that humans are foolish, pitiful creatures. Snippets of the events to date are shown. At the end of the episode Hohenheim is shown awaking from a drunken dream after departing Resembool to pursue his ambitions.

Episode Tropes:

  • All Just a Dream: The end of the episode reveals that everything Hohenheim saw was from a drunken dream.
  • Clip Show: One that showcases all the events from the first half of the show up till now.
  • A Day in the Limelight: This one focuses on Hohenheim. The Elric brothers do not appear aside from stock footage.
  • Evolving Credits: The intro changes for a third time, this time having "Golden Time Lover" by Sukima Switch as the new theme song.
  • Humans Are Special: Hohenheim's vision of a teenage Trisha gives a hopeful speech about how humans can change, because their weakness gives them room to grow and their mortality gives them reason to live.
  • Wham Line: When one of Hohenheim's old drinking buddies from the photo approaches him, he addresses her as "Pinako", revealing he's old enough to have known Winry's grandmother back when she was a young woman.
