Daphne recalls for her therapist (played by Sharon Epatha Merkerson) frustrating events that followed her fiance's planning a surprise wedding shower.

- Armor-Piercing Question: Repeatedly, while talking to her therapist about the chaos she's recently been through, Daphne mentions her favorite dress being ruined. Then the therapist asks why she was wearing it when the shower was a surprise, and what Daphne had actually expected to happen on that day. Since she had been invited to Niles' place for what she had assumed was a private evening together, Daphne realizes that she cares about Niles, and more so than she cares about Donny.
- I Need a Freaking Drink: As Daphne's evening gets worse she decides to pour herself a large glass of scotch, which is the exact moment Donny arrives with his parents.
- Inkblot Test: The episode opens with the therapist putting Daphne through this test. Daphne's answers use violent imagery such as "two bunnies clawing each other to death" and "a woman skinning a pigeon with a hatchet" that hint at her frustration and suppressed emotions regarding her conflicted feelings for Donny and Niles.
- It's All About Me: Frasier is completely oblivious to Daphne's situation and solely focused on how sick he is. After Daphne accidentally causes a traffic pile-up he marches through the living room yelling about how he has to make his own tea. Though in complete fairness to him, he's out of the room for most of the chaos and genuinely has no idea what's happened.
- Kavorka Man: Simon manages to attract Roz, even making out with her while he's got a cold, but turns her off the next day when he forgets about a date he made and has to get his jacket back from another girl he'd brought to Frasier's apartment.
- Meet the In-Laws: Among the various incidents related to the wedding shower is a day when Daphne thought she had Frasier's apartment all to herself to freshen up, but was interrupted by Frasier, Martin, her brother Simon, and a bunch of random strangers Simon befriended showing up unexpectedly for various reasons and then asking her for favors, leaving her irritated and still mid-lip-bleaching...and then Donny's parents arrived to meet her a day earlier than planned, getting an unflattering first impression.
- Rage Breaking Point: Daphne hits hers when the neighbor confronts her about taking her washing out of the machine. After hearing the full story, and all the events leading up to that moment, her therapist admits she can see why Daphne snapped the way she did.
