Roz discovers that she's pregnant during a Halloween party as Niles' apartment and when she tells Frasier, a bunch of hilarious miscommunication is sowed.

- Give the Baby a Father: Niles drunkenly announces that he's going to propose to Daphne when he thinks Frasier got her pregnant and is rebuffing her. Once he finds out Roz is the one who's pregnant he's suddenly a lot less enthusiastic about proposing.
- Godiva Hair: One woman at Niles' party is wearing a long blonde wig over a flesh-colored bodysuit. When Frasier asks if she's come as Lady Godiva, she clarifies that she's actually meant to be Eve.
- Irony: During Frasier's show, one of his callers problem is that he is feeling disconnected, only for Roz to accidently hang up on him trying to connect him to Frasier. As Frasier himself says:Frasier: Well, I hope Ted appreciates irony.
- Lame Pun Reaction: Roz notes "it's going to be a long night" when every one goes "Oh" every time she tells them she is O.
- Mistaken for Pregnant: Due to a series of misunderstandings, Niles ends up thinking that Daphne is pregnant with Frasier's baby.
- Nasal Trauma: Jokingly happens when Niles' prostatic nose gets literally bent out of shape when he walks into a door.
- Poor Communication Kills: The entire episode revolves around this due to Niles' Out-of-Context Eavesdropping on Frasier and Daphne when they talk about Roz's baby. Frasier and Daphne have their own confusion when Daphne is led to believe that Roz had a car accident when talking to Frasier about the pregnancy.
- Shout-Out: Quite a number of guests at the party are dressed as a specific character, since it was literary themed:
- Roz goes dressed up as O from The Story of O
- Niles is Cyrano de Bergerac.
- Frasier and Daphne are Geoffrey Chaucer and the Wife of Bath, respectively.
- One guest that Frasier talks to is Eve, though he asks if she is Lady Godiva first.

- Martin, befitting of a former police detective, is Sherlock Holmes.
