This episode contains tropes of:

  • Ad-Break Double-Take: The end of the second and beginning of the third act has Frankie and Herriman repeat the following lines below, except in the second act's case, they're overlade on top of each other.
Frankie: Bloo, you open this door this instant!!!! Open up!!!! I'm gonna count to ten!!! One, two, Bloo!!!!!
Mr. Herriman: Let us in this instant!! Bloo, open this door right now! When I get in there, they'll be in rules like you've never imagined!! Oh, my!
  • Call-Back: Frankie is seen wearing a black dress during the fund-raising party. Being the third time she wore one.
  • Exact Words: Bloo and the others follow Frankie's rule to not touch the first floor to a tee. With them going through high lengths to get inside without touching the first floor and Bloo being on a wagon when he's on the floor level.
  • House Fire: Terrence revealed to did one off-screen in his and Mac's apartment.
  • Human Ladder: Bloo accidentally sets a magazine on fire while trying to read it quietly. The smoke from the fire activates the smoke detector, and since Frankie told the imaginary friends to be quiet while she hosts a benefit party to raise funds for Foster's, the imaginary friends form one to try to turn off the smoke detector so as not to disturb her. Eduardo is on the bottom, Wilt stands on top of him, Coco stands on top of Wilt, and Bloo stands on top of Coco. Although they don't succeed in turning off the smoke detector, Frankie finds out about the fire and puts it out.
  • Key Confusion: Mac and the imaginary friends sneak back into the house to play Terrence's video games after Frankie locked them out so they wouldn't disturb the benefit party she is throwing to raise money for Foster's. When Frankie and Mr. Herriman go outside to check on them, Bloo locks them out so they won't be able to punish them. Mr. Herriman has a key ring on hand, but has a very hard time figuring out which key is the one that unlocks the house. When he eventually finds it, Eduardo takes the key ring from him to ensure he can't unlock the door any more. At the end of the episode, it is revealed that Mr. Herriman keeps a spare key under the house's doormat.
  • Shout-Out: Probably the most blatant example to Peanuts happens here when Wilt pulls away Bloo—the football, from getting kicked by Mac. "Good grief" indeed. To Wilt's merit, it isn't done in malice.
  • Stripping the Scarecrow: At one point when Frankie tries to get back into the house, she sees a scarecrow in front of the house and switches clothes with it to fool Bloo while she tries to sneak back in, but Bloo soon catches on.
  • Pet the Dog: Terrence revealed to lended his video game collection to Mac in exchange for his silence to their mom (he'd set a fire in their house). Considering that Terrence could have just as easily used physical bullying to get Mac to comply, it was remarkably kind of him.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Frankie gets thrown another bone in this episode. As Bloo's ridiculous antics, established as a major source of grief for Frankie, actually help her in the end by earning some badly-needed fundraising donations for the house. Funny enough, Frankie punishes Bloo anyway for being such a jerkass.
