Recap / Fillmore A Dark Score Evened

Go To

  • Absurd Phobia: Grover mentions that he has a fear of non dairy whipped topping.
  • Ambiguously Brown: Fiona Ashbury.
  • Beleaguered Assistant: Played for drama. Becca is this for Fiona in the fashion club.
  • Bodyguard Crush: O’Farrell lampshades this when he’s assigned to bodyguard Rochelle.
  • The Cameo: Malika from "Red Robins Don't Fly" can be seen serving out her detention behind Rochelle while Fillmore and Ingrid are trying to question her.
  • Camping a Crapper: Rochelle is attacked in the girls bathroom.
  • Covered in Gunge: Grover has an energy drink poured over his head by the badminton team. Later Fiona and her models are drenched in blueberry jam.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: One of the rare times where school bully Rochelle says anything nice or touching is when she fondly talks about how her mother gave her her Signature Headgear bandanna when she was six to keep her bangs from getting in her face.
  • Evil Redhead: Known bullies Rochelle and Brian are redheads.
  • Fake-Hair Drama: Becca gets one of her hair extensions ripped out by Fiona.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Stella makes an acronym of the word acronym for her protest:
Stella: All Creatures Really Only Need Your Mercy.
  • Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Feminine and fashion conscious Fiona dresses in purple.
  • Granola Girl: Stella Valencia. Given her protests and rallies she also counts as a Soapbox Sadie.
  • I Resemble That Remark!: O’Farrell complains that he makes Fiona’s list of top ten fashion felons every year and doesn’t understand why. He then proceeds to leave his desk dressed in hipster glasses and a kilt.
  • Impossibly Tacky Clothes: Becca’s designs in the fashion club are seen as this.
  • Jerk Jock: "Bri-Dog" from what little we see of him.
  • Nerdy Bully: Horace, who loves mocking people when they need his computer expertise. Becca even lampshades it after he says being a computer geek means he can't be a bully.
  • No Sympathy: Fillmore doesn’t show any sympathy for bullies and is hesitant to find out who’s behind the bully attacks.
  • Plenty of Blondes: Becca, Stella, Grover, and Horace are all blond.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Becca gives one to Horace when he proclaims he can't be a bully because he's a geek, exclaiming he's a bully because he treats people like garbage simply because he knows more about computers than they do.
  • The Stool Pigeon: Rochelle reluctantly provides the names of more bullies in exchange for protection.
  • "Strangers on a Train"-Plot Murder: Grover, Becca, Stella, and Wilbur get back at their bullies this way in a complex web of payback.
  • Sweet Baker: Wilbur is first introduced carrying a package of tiramisu he baked himself.
  • Take Our Word for It: The audience never sees the peace quilt. Fillmore calls it a "dog-ugly blanket."
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Of the bullies shown, Rochelle is the tomboy to Fiona’s girly girl.
  • Tree Cover: Stella hides inside some indoor shrubs when Fillmore and Ingrid try to track her down.
  • True Blue Femininity: Becca is shown to have her fair share of feminine qualities and is seen dressed in blue.
  • Vigilante Militia: A group of frequently bullied students set out to subject the school's biggest bullies to disgusting pranks that leave them too traumatized to bully anyone else.
  • Villain Has a Point: Considering Horace has been nothing but unpleasant and smug about his knowledge of computers throughout the entire episode, you can't fault Becca when she calls him out on how him exploiting his power to mock others makes him just as bad as the bullies who use physical force to get what they want.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Brian and Fiona don’t get as much screen time as Rochelle and Horace do in terms of showing their characters as bullies. It’s averted because Becca does say that Fiona was out sick after the blueberry jam attack.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Vallejo was not amused when Fillmore told him he had O'Farrell assigned as Rochelle's bodyguard.
Vallejo: Didn't we give Rochelle protection?
    Fillmore: I assigned O'Farrell.
Vallejo: O'Farrell?! Fillmore, O'Farrell's not trained to use the stapler, let alone bodyguard somebody! What were you thinking?!
  • Wondrous Ladies Room: The girls bathroom is this, according to O’Farrell.
