Christmas has arrived in Chaldea once more, and it's time for the protagonist to reprise their role as a reindeer for Santa, AKA Jeanne Alter Santa Lily... wait, what?

Tropes:

  • Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better: Jeanne Alter's grudge against Santa Alter from last year resulted in her attempting to usurp the role of Santa this year.
  • Call-Back: Jack and Alice remember that they had to fight Santa for their right to have Christmas last year, and opt to continue the tradition.
  • Debut Queue: Jeanne Alter Santa Lily is the welfare Servant for this event.
  • Fountain of Youth: Gilgamesh's youth potion, which Kid Gil accidentally gave to Jeanne Alter in place of an invisibility potion, is what turned her into a Lily Servant.
  • Gift of the Magi Plot: Jeanne Alter Santa Lily references the original story, and doesn't think much of the ending.
Personally, the truly moving moment kinda falls flat! Hair can grow out, but the special family watch is gone forever! From the way the story goes, the husband prolly won't be getting a new watch. And every time the wife uses the combs, she'd feel real bad, and every time the husband sees the combs, he'd feel kinda dumb. And that's bad. 'Course they wanted to be nice, but their gifts didn't make them magi, they made them dummies!
  • My New Gift Is Lame: Jeanne Alter Santa Lily's gifts tend to be what she thinks the recipient needs, rather than what they want. Examples include giving a partyful of tipsy Servants an anti-intoxication potion and giving Fuuma a Japanese-English dictionary because his Noble Phantasm is improperly translated.
  • Mysterious Protector: Santa Island Mask (Amakusa Shirou wearing Mozart's mask) serves as Jeanne Alter Santa Lily's protector and adviser through the story... until he betrays her to become Santa himself when she seems to be straying from her role.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Amakusa's mask. Emiya's mask proves to be even thinner.
  • The Reveal: The trials Jeanne Alter Santa Lily went through were organized by the protagonist to create a scenario where she could connect her Spirit Origin to Jeanne d'Arc's legend without realizing it, otherwise she'd disappear in a Puff of Logic.
  • Wake Up Fighting: Santa Alter reacts to Jeanne Alter Lily politely asking for the right to be Santa with Excalibur Morgan, followed by going right back to sleep. She's slightly more guilty about that when she's fully awake.
