Recap / Fanboy And Chum Chum S 1 E 22 Night Morning

Go To

Fanboy joins Chum Chum on a spree where he does things he usually does in the morning at night, with unsatisfied results from their guests.

Tropes:

  • An Aesop: There are things that seem fun to you, but not to others.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking:
Fanboy: Can you eat electricity? Can you pet a live tiger? Can you hand me some toilet paper?
  • Bottle Episode: Most of the episode takes place inside the Fanlair, but there are a few scenes outdoors and at the school.
  • Braces of Orthodontic Overkill: Kyle shows up wearing some ridiculously large headgear, some which make up a miniature train set.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: When Chum Chum sneaks back into the Fanlair after Fanboy realized he's gone, he emits a small hiccup and blocks it, some think he's gone a little drunk.
  • Eye Pop: Fanboy does this after Chum Chum invites him to do Night Morning with him. He does it again when learning Man-Arctica is coming.
  • Foreshadowing: Chum Chum responding "Well..." in an uncertain manner toward Fanboy's outrageous Night Morning suggestions, as well as him saying "I don't know if you're interested" when the questions are over, are both hints that Chum Chum's Night Morning is really Incredibly Lame Fun.
  • Incredibly Lame Fun: Chum Chum's Night Morning is actually him doing his entire morning routine at night, such as eating cereal, imagining TV shows, folding laundry, sharpening pencils, cleaning his ears, and knitting.
  • The Man in the Mirror Talks Back: A minor example, but during the "questions" montage Fanboy's reflection walks out of the mirror as he follows Chum Chum.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: The entire Night Morning, though no one but Fanboy finds it fun.
  • Only One Finds It Fun: Fanboy is the only one who actually enjoys Chum Chum's Incredibly Lame Fun; all the other guests just take their money back and leave.
  • Overly Long Gag: Fanboy repeatedly asks Chum Chum what he does during Night Morning for an entire day.
  • The Reveal: Lupe reveals her uncle married a chicken.
  • Running Gag: Every time someone leaves, they take their dollar back, though Kyle takes back two.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: As per a Running Gag, a student expresses this opinion before he/she takes back their money and leaves.
