- Cleveland’s time as a Cuban nightclub performer parodies Ricky Ricardo of I Love Lucy, additionally Cuba’s national anthem is the theme song.
- Quagmire's previously mentioned Overly Long Gag involving his tennis ball bouncing and the audience applauding for Freddie Mercury is rythymatically done in the style of the opening music of the song 'We Will Rock You'.
- Peter's sport's story is a rip-off of Rocky.
- Take That!: The show once again craps all over Cleveland's spinoff.
- Unreliable Narrator: While it's safe to say that all of the sports stories were made up, Peter gets a special mention by mentioning that he died even though he's telling the story, alive and well.
- Vignette Episode: Just the guys all telling sports stories allegedly from the past but as Peter says outright rips off other stories.
