Go To

The guys regale each other with stories of youthful athletic accomplishments; Cleveland was a teenage baseball player from Cuba; Quagmire was a bad boy tennis superstar from New York; Peter was an underdog boxer from Philadelphia.

Tropes:

  • Latino Is Brown: Averted with Cleveland's vignette; this is Truth in Television, as Cuba is home to a significant Afro-Latino community.
  • Overly Long Gag: Quagmire at one point bounces a tennis ball he is about to serve countless times.
  • Overt Operative: Played for Laughs. Cleveland comments that he never saw any CIA agents while in Cuba, despite being told the island was crawling with them. The audience is then shown a bunch of people wearing stereotypical secret agent garb, including two people who were sitting in front of a young Cleveland.
  • Shout-Out: Joe likes Gilmore Girls
    • Cleveland’s time as a Cuban nightclub performer parodies Ricky Ricardo of I Love Lucy, additionally Cuba’s national anthem is the theme song.
    • Quagmire's previously mentioned Overly Long Gag involving his tennis ball bouncing and the audience applauding for Freddie Mercury is rythymatically done in the style of the opening music of the song 'We Will Rock You'.
    • Peter's sport's story is a rip-off of Rocky.
  • Take That!: The show once again craps all over Cleveland's spinoff.
  • Unreliable Narrator: While it's safe to say that all of the sports stories were made up, Peter gets a special mention by mentioning that he died even though he's telling the story, alive and well.
  • Vignette Episode: Just the guys all telling sports stories allegedly from the past but as Peter says outright rips off other stories.
