- An Aesop: Just tell the truth, or just don't encourage/humor rumors and gossip. Chris intentionally doesn't give any clear answers as to what happened with Tasha because he likes the reputation it gives him on the streets and at school, and the idea that he's seen as Tasha's boyfriend.
- Bait-and-Switch: Julius asks Rochelle to leave the room to speak Chris one-on-one. He approaches him with a threatening demeanor as sinister music plays, but he really does just want to speak to Chris.
- Casanova Wannabe: This is Chris' undoing. He likes being seen as Tasha's boyfriend or a lady killer, but understandably, Tasha isn't too fond of rumors being spread about her.
- Celebrity Resemblance: Kill Moves asks James if he ever notices how Nick Ashford and Verdine White look exactly alike.
James: "Verdine White from the liquor store, or Verdine White from Earth, Wind & Fire?"
Kill Moves: "It's the same guy.."
James: "Whaaaaat?"
- Gossip Evolution: Chris gets rid of a mouse in Tasha's closet, to which she gives him a quick kiss on the cheek as thanks. That eventually turns into Chris and Tasha sharing a romantic kiss, to making out, to them being a couple, to Chris cheating on her, to Chris being a player..
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Drew spends much of the episode very gloomy and dejected, feeling neglected by Rochelle. She eventually catches onto it and tries to sort it out.
