Henry: It's Kim.

Toaster Owner: This is better than the one I had!
Jo: No, That is not how this works!

The ship door opens and out comes... Kim Yamazaki, Henry's girlfriend who died in the season 1 finale. Henry tries to figure out why his spaceship came home, why it recreated Kim and especially how he's going to relate to her. Meanwhile the sheriff's office tries to return all the property the spaceship used to create its boson safety net without too many mix-ups and then how to get it all back to save the earth.

Tropes

  • Artificial Human: The being that comes out of the ship. She isn't really Kim Yamazaki, but what the ship's computer made to record all the information it encountered.
  • Call-Back: After dying in Once in a Lifetime, Kim is back... as a data-laden Artificial Human grown by Columbia's computer to replace itself.
  • Emerald Power: The townsfolk are cured of the electrocution virus by shining a specific wavelength of green light on them.
  • Get a Hold of Yourself, Man!: Fargo freaks out when he's lead suspect in Dr Leider's death.
Fargo: Omigod, I'm going to jail, aren't I? The Big House, The Slammer, The Hoosegow. I'm gonna spend the rest of my life as President of the Attica Physics Club!
    [Jo slaps him]
    Jo: Man up.
  • High-Voltage Death: Dr Leider and Zane were both struck down by unexplained electrocution from no obvious source; Dr Leider is killed, but Zane was saved. Turns out they both contracted a virus from the shuttle's original, organic computer... and everyone in town's been infected.
  • Mind Rape: Zane on being made to sleep-build a boson safety net.
Zane: What that thing did... it left a bad taste in my brain.
  • Mr. Exposition: Allison and Henry fill Carter and the audience in on where the shuttle came from: it's the Columbia, a shuttle Henry and Kim worked on twenty years earlier. It was lost three years after launch and the project was shut down.
  • Red Herring:
    • Dr Leider's death by electrocution had nothing to do with Fargo stealing his power converter back.
    • Zane's near-fatal electrocution had nothing to do with Kim 2.0.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Carter's reaction when he realises he needs to reassemble the boson safety net to provide enough power to cure everyone... including all the items he's had to return to people.
