  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Nate approaches his father and lets him know about the trauma he suffers as a result of having seen his videos at a young age. He produces a flash drive containing all of the videos, and Cal hears the approaching sirens of police, which were tipped off by him ahead of time. He begs Nate not to send him away, in the most vulnerable and fearful state we've ever seen him in thus far, but Nate simply says that he doesn't believe he will ever change, and the police arrive and arrest him shortly after.
  • Big "NO!": Cassie screams one after seeing her actress act the moment she was drunk at the carnival and was having an Immodest Orgasm on the merry go round.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Rue has finally completed her sobriety and will continue her redemption path, especially with her rekindling her friendships with Elliot, Lexi and Jules, despite her brutal breakup with the latter. Lexi is finally successful with the play and has finally gotten back her best friend Rue and finally made new friends with Maddy, but in the process she lost both Fez, who ends up getting injured and arrested after losing Ashtray in a police shootout, and her sister Cassie at the same time.
  • Break Them by Talking: What Cassie tries to punish Lexi with for her play causing Nate to break up with her.
  • Break the Haughty: Happens to Cassie by the time the climax reaches after being beaten up by Maddy for being a completely sadistic bully towards her, Lexi and everyone else during the play and before that.
  • Continuity Nod: Cassie's onstage meltdown completely echoes Rue's own withdrawal meltdown 4 episodes ago. Both of their violent rants are triggered by their addictions being exposed and their "drugs" being taken away by their family (Rue's mother, Leslie and Cassie's sister, Lexi). Even Cassie's "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Lexi mirrors Rue's speech to her ex-girlfriend Jules, with both of them accusing the two girls of acting good and innocent while selfishly ruining the lives of others around them and permanently cutting them out of their lives and blaming them for not being there for them at their lowest. And both their withdrawals end with them assaulting others and running away.
  • Character Death: Ashtray is killed in a police shootout.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After enduring the pain and suffering caused by Cassie when the latter's affair with Nate was exposed, Maddy finally stands up to Cassie when she tries to ruin Lexi's play and beats her up.
  • Face/Heel Double-Turn: The finale proves to be one for both Rue and Cassie. Rue finally completes the first parts of her sobriety and works on making amends with Lexi, Elliot and Jules and even backs Lexi up along with Jules during her play, while Cassie fully completes her Faceā€“Heel Turn after Nate breaks up with her and proceeds to gleefully gaslight and bully Lexi and insult Maddy onstage before being beaten up by the latter.
  • Hannibal Lecture: Cassie gives one to Lexi and Maddy after Nate breaks up with her before the latter finally gives her a Shut Up, Hannibal!.
  • Hated by All: By the end of season 2 due to her obsession with Nate that resulted in her bullying and abusing her friends and family where she finally abused Lexi during her play and insulted Maddy, Cassie ends up earning this trope.
  • Hypocrite: Despite the below trope, Cassie blames her friends and family for half the things she herself did. Namely accusing Lexi of being an Attention Whore for the play and using it to judge others when she herself did the same thing by making all the issues about herself and overshadowing Lexi and judged Rue, Lexi and Maddy for their flaws, weaknesses and perceived wrongdoings (she judged Maddy for being "toxic" for Nate before her birthday party and later, judged Rue for her drug addiction and exposing her affair with Nate) and then accuses them of betraying her when she herself betrayed Maddy and Lexi throughout Season 2.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After sleeping with her best friend's ex and antagonizing her friends and family for understandably not defending her, Cassie finally gets her comeuppance when Nate angrily breaks up with her and Maddy beats her up in public.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Jules was the only major player who wasn't aware of Nate and Cassie's affair or the manner it transpired (especially Cassie's intimidating and dreaded nature being the factor behind it and her betrayal of Maddy). It isn't until Cassie's menacing public meltdown at Lexi's play that she finally pieces together what really went down.
  • Put on a Prison Bus: Cal is turned in to the authorities by Nate, deciding he's done protecting him.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Many moments after her venomous and brutal breakdown, we see flashbacks of a younger Cassie comforting Rue at her father's funeral and bonding with her former friends and sister during a photo session and later, there is another flashback of her crying into Lexi's arms as the latter comforts her after seeing their dad struggle.
