Vegeta: Wait a damn minute, something's wrong here...
Gohan: Huh?
Vegeta: Back on your planet, the Namek couldn't even stand up to Nappa...and here he is now, taking on Freeza, in his second form!
Gohan: What do you think happened?
Vegeta: Well, either Freeza hit me so hard, I'm in a delusional coma, or...
Gohan: Or...?
Vegeta: ...POWER LEVELS ARE BULLSHIT!

Dende turns Tempting Fate into an art form.
Piccolo vs. Freeza form 2 kicks into high gear, but when Freeza reveals that he has other forms, things go south. Meanwhile, Vegeta tries to increase his power by having Krillin almost kill him. Dende can then heal him, as no one f*cks with the white mage...except for Freeza.

No one goes to that page anymore, not since these tropes mysteriously repopulated:

  • Badass Boast: Gohan right before tossing the Masenko at Freeza:
Gohan: HEY FREEZA! The human body's composed of 75% water. I am 100% death! (fires Masenko) HAVE SOME!
  • Call-Back:
    • Vegeta notes how back on Earth, Piccolo wasn't able to do much against Nappa, but now is capable of fighting Freeza in his second form. This causes Vegeta to conclude that "power levels are bullsh*t."
    • Vegeta decides to hide out on Freeza Planet 419 aka Planet Kanassa from the Bardock, Father of Goku special, since no one goes there since the species repopulated.
    • Vegeta: "Actually, that looks more like a plat- (Gets hit) -au!"
    • Gohan's "Crapbaskets!" Catchphrase is uttered again when Freeza deflects the Masenko back towards him.
  • Call-Forward: As is typical of the Kanassans, we hear them make random references to future events in the series when we cut to their planet after Vegeta decides to hide out there:
    "I can see the future!"
"Bulma and Vegeta have a kid!"
"The real Buu is a child!"
    "Cell reaches his Perfect form!"
"Goten and Trunks become a guy!"
"Gohan is the strongest in the universe, but still doesn't do crap!"
  • Forgot About His Powers: Once again, Krillin forgets to use his Kienzan on an open target such as Freeza. Then again, he attacked Vegeta with all he's got, so he's tapped out of energy.
  • Gag Echo: After Dende refuses to heal Vegeta, the Saiyan Prince weakly yells after him to "come back, Magic Man." The scene immediately following that has Dende healing Piccolo, who replies with "Thank you, Magic Man."
  • Gambit Roulette: Vegeta demands Krillin "almost kill him" so Dende can heal him back, allowing his Saiyan power to increase for a chance to face Freeza. If not for Piccolo, Dende would have had no problem letting Vegeta bleed to death for killing some of his people.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Vegeta makes a plan to have Krillin almost kill him and Dende heal him back up stronger. Gohan never manages to get an explanation for why Krillin mortally injured Vegeta.
Gohan: Seriously, what did I miss!?
  • Nepotism: Dende lampshades this, favoring to heal Piccolo/Nail over Vegeta. Granted, Vegeta helped by murdering some of Dende's people.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Piccolo has Dende heal Vegeta. Unfortunately, Dende is left an easy target for Freeza to kill after reaching his final form.
  • No-Sell: Third Form Freeza against Gohan's Masenko, as opposed to canon, where it actually came close to finishing him off.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Granted, Vegeta slaughtered some of Dende and Piccolo's people, leading Dende to ignore his plea to be healed. Piccolo, however, tells him to heal him anyway because they still need to deal with Freeza.
  • Say It: Dende makes Vegeta say “Dende” and “Please heal me Dende” in order to get healed. Even after doing so, Dende still does not do it.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Vegeta attempts to do this while Freeza's fighting Piccolo, planning to take one of the Ginyus' pods and head off-world, only for Freeza to cut him off at the pass and punch him through a plateau.
  • Shout-Out: As indicated by the episode title, Freeza's third form's resemblance to a Xenomorph is heavily mocked:
Piccolo: "I think Ridley Scott's going to sue somebody."
  • So Last Season: Weighted clothing. "That concept just sort of lost meaning after a while, didn't it?"
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: When Krillin asks if there's any repercussion for going along with Vegeta's scheme, Vegeta just says, "I will not punch you," which Krillin notes is pretty specific.
  • Tempting Fate: Dende thinks he's safe from Vegeta's wrath because his healing power makes him too needed an asset for the fight against Freeza. Unfortunately, Freeza thought so too.
  • Transformation Is a Free Action:
    • The reason Piccolo doesn't do anything to stop Freeza while he's transforming into his third form? He's too busy arguing with Nail inside his head about getting new apps for his mindscape besides Minesweeper.
    • The reason no one does anything to stop Freeza while he's transforming into his final form? Krillin used all of his energy mortally wounding Vegeta so now he can't use his Kienzan, Vegeta is being healed by Dende, Piccolo is still recovering, and Gohan is still processing what Krillin did.
  • Troll: Freeza's comments while facing down Gohan's Masenko definitely qualify as such:
Freeza: Oh no! The invincible Lord Freeza, defeated by a mere child, what dramatic irony! Just kidding! (deflects Masenko back towards Gohan) [...] So, we're all well-aware that that all basically equated to a game of hot-space-potato, right?
  • Unexplained Recovery: According to Vegeta, the inhabitants of Planet Kanassa (formerly renamed as "Freeza Planet 419") have somehow miraculously repopulated after Bardock's group supposedly wiped them all out decades ago.

Please Heal Me, Dende

After all the crap he pulled on Namek, a critically injured Vegeta has the nerve to ask Dende to heal him....
Thankfully, Dende has other plans for now.

How well does it match the trope?
