This chapter contains examples of:
- Back in the Saddle: Mascula's body returns to action having been repaired by Chelle off screen with the help of Finlorda using faerie magic to boost the control signal so that Mascula can use it as a Remote Body.
- Berserk Button: Laxi mashes the Twins' button of denying freedom not by beating them, but because she says they're NOT as free as they think they are. They use Laxi/Mascula as their measuring stick for freedom.
- Big Damn Heroes:
- Like the other chapters before, Laxi is backed up by a purified void dragon, this time being Agni.
- Part 2 has Mascula be this, saving the party from androids.
- Call-Back:
- Euden thinking back to Chapter 16 to people believing him to be the Other, and Empress Zethia wanting to swap souls, makes him realize that if news of him being made of a piece of the Other got out, the Alberian royal family would be screwed.
- Continuity Nod: One from "Forgotten Truths" come up in Part 2.
- A princess who gave up her wings (Meene) who witnessed the birth of the Other 1000 years ago.
- The Coup: In Part 1, the party finds out that Finlorda's son Jinlorda is now the Faerie King after taking over.
- In Part 2, it is learned that there are some faeries who are unhappy with Jinlorda's reforms and started another uprising while he was busy with his forces attacking the Sacred Tree.
- Dead Man Writing: Euden receives a letter written by King Aurelius, knowing the only way Euden would ever see this letter is if Aurelius was dead.
- Despair Event Horizon: King Aurelius was so desperate to revive baby Euden that he was willing to let a piece of Morsayati be used as part of the process.
- Just Think of the Potential!: Jinlorda would rather the Faerie Kingdom still be doing experiments with the Other's magic until Finlorda sealed it all away.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Finlorda's creation of Euden, as well as experiments involving the Other, were this to him to the point he stopped them all.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The Twins no longer want to "play" with Laxi and just want to see her reduced to scrap metal after she gives them a "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
- Out of the Frying Pan: As the main characters were about to be overwhelmed by the android army of the faeries trying to eliminate the Prince, Ayaha & Otaha does a Villainous Rescue just so they themselves can attempt to destroy Laxi Mascula.
- Remote Body: Mascula's heart is still within Laxi, but he's now able to control his own remote body once more.
- The Reveal: Finlorda reveals to the main cast several things:
- Notte was given Laser-Guided Amnesia and was planted in South Grastea to meet and befriend Zethia so that Finlorda can use her to monitor the Prince's growth.
- The Prince is an Artificial Human made from faerie magic and the flesh of the Other.
- The Sacred Tree is where the Dawnshard is found in this world, to Zena's surprise.
- Riddle for the Ages: Even after Euden's creation is laid out, everyone is still confused how he's been able to form pacts with multiple dragons.
- Right for the Wrong Reasons: It's this as well as The Fog of Ages after Alex calls blasphemy on Finlorda describing Morsayati's real creation, believing that the Other was summoned by humans to fight dragons. Elisanne says this goes against all Ilian scripture and recorded history. Morsayati was summoned by a human (Mordecai) to fight Elysium as well as anyone who supported him.
