Recap / Dr. Crafty Season 1 Month 3: Fiona Frightening Month

Go To

Airing Range: 7/5/17 - 7/26/17

To Nurse's delight, Crafty decides to spruce up his gallery with some original content. To wit, this month's theme centers on Crafty's then-upcoming (later canceled) game: Fiona Frightening and the Wicked Wardrobe. He spends each of the four episodes enhancing the designs of the main cast members, who each drop by to discuss how they changed over time. The episodes serve to advertise the game and have an explicit focus on character design principles.

Tropes Applicable to the Month as a whole:

  • Special Guest: Several characters from Fiona Frightening appear in person throughout the month to provide commentary on their redesigns. They are even voiced by the voice actors they were given for the game.

Main Show E9: "A Frightening Beginning"

Air Date: 7/5/17

What motivates Crafty's decision for this month's theme is how cluttered his castle was getting from last month's fan art. He kicks off his Fiona Frightening art with the eponymous main character, followed by Draphael and Whiskers.

Tropes Found in This Episode:

Main Show E10: "Rocky Horror Slicture Show"

Air Date: 7/12/17

Laguna, Golemmy, and Jack-O-Laugh are next, and they happen to be the three most annoying for Crafty, personality-wise. Nurse, ever the fan of Crafty's ideas, is much more accommodating towards them, however.

Tropes Found in This Episode:

Main Show E11: "Fanboy and the Furious"

Air Date: 7/19/17

Crafty's favorite Fiona Frightening character, Princess Mumma is fast approaching… but he first has to deal with the antics of Sir Waxworth and Francis.

Tropes Found in This Episode:

Main Show E12: "A Song of Ice and Fire"

Air Date: 7/26/17

Crafty finally recovers from Isen's attack from the last episode and finishes the Fiona Frightening redesigns, including the former, Los Lobones and Carmen… and an unexpected guest.

Tropes Found in This Episode:

  • Hostile Show Takeover: Just as Crafty finishes drawing all of the Fiona Frightening characters, the Boogieman, the game's Big Bad, takes control of the show to do an art time-lapse of himself without any commentary from Crafty or Nurse..
