Go To

After his father holds a competition with a paid one-week vacation to Ocean Side to the K. Rool Incorporated branch that has the best sales, K. Rool makes DK and the gang work until 2:00 A.M. in an attempt to beat his brother Kennedy's sales. Meanwhile, Dixie and Diddy try to get close to each other.

Tropes

  • Because You Were Nice to Me: K. Rool reveals to DK that Bowser II was the first one to not treat him like crap, and that's how they became friends. The crown he wears was given to him by Bowser, and it has a lot of emotional value for K. Rool just for that alone.
  • Big Brother Bully: Kennedy as per usual. He doesn't wait an opportunity to mock Konnor's life, employees, and his weight
  • Bittersweet Ending: K. Rool learns from DK that he doesn't need his family's approval if they are just going to keep treating him like crap and allows them to leave early. On the other hand, Dixie backs down from Diddy in the last possible second and acts like if she were uninterested in him, which she then regrets when she sees a girl showing interest in Diddy at the club.
  • Call-Back: Dixie reminds Diddy of what happened in the first episode of the series when he tried to lift a heavy barrel by himself.
  • Chirping Crickets: Used twice when K. Rool and Krusha try to get the employees' attention.
  • Comically Small Bribe: Tiny tells Chunky that they'll let him keep the score of their soccer game if he doesn't tell K. Rool. Chunky accepts.
  • Continuity Nod: Kennedy states that his company sold a lot of stocks to the Bohnenkraut Kingdom to help the people of Karhar City. Karhar City was destroyed by Johann XVIII and Fawful as part of their plan to Kill the Poor.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: K. Rool wonders why DK can't just hate him like his friends do.
  • Gleeful and Grumpy Pairing: DK and K. Rool as per usual. Despite K. Rool's claims that he doesn't need his emotional support, DK refuses to abandon K. Rool to feel miserbale.
  • Hourglass Plot: Ever since the beginning of the series Diddy was the one trying to win over Dixie in spite of her having an affair with Krusha. By the end of this episode, Diddy meets a girl named Kitty at the club and Dixie is left feeling miserable over it. Whether it will carry on to later episodes or not is still a mystery.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Chunky wonders why would anyone celebrate Halloween on November, yet he himself is revealed to already have the Christmas decorations up.
  • It Was a Gift: K. Rool's crown was a gift from Bowser, the person who treated him way better than his family ever did, and thus it means a lot to K. Rool.
  • Prehensile Hair: Lampshaded by Diddy when he wonders if Dixie has muscles in her hair.
  • Take That!: There's a brief one at soccer games and how long they tend to drag on for.
  • You Are Fat:
    • Kennedy makes fun of his brother's weight, though this isn't anything new.
    • A Flash Back shows three Bullies picking on K. Rool for his weight among other things.
    • When Bowser gave K. Rool his crown he said "Konnor, you are the king of obesity". Unlike the previous two examples, however, Bowser clearly was joking about it.
