Recap / Disventure Camp Money Fame And Shame Part 1

Tropes in this episode include:

  • All-Loving Heroine: Rosa volunteers to help James in the challenge, in great part because she knows that if she didn't, no one would, and she later states that she doesn't like seeing others having a bad time, even if she thinks they deserve it.
  • Break Them by Talking: Riya tries to demoralise Aiden by telling him that he only got so far in this episode's challenge because he had Lake to help him, and that everyone makes him a fool, specially James.
  • Character Development: Discussed. Lake insists that Aiden talks things through with James, but he's reluctant because he believes people don't truly change. But in the end Lake manages to convince Aiden to give James a chance to explain himself.
  • Continuity Nod: When Yul insults Kai and Maggy, the latter tells him that it's for the best if he shuts up, or he'll get another black eye, this being a nod to Maggy giving Yul a black eye when she was eliminated in "Truth Hurts".
  • Hated by All: After being exposed by Riya, and after his actions towards some of the other contestants, like Karol and Yul, James is left with no one rooting for him in the final challenge, and when he needs a helper, the only person that volunteers to do so is Rosa, that was originally rooting for Aiden. Somewhat downplayed when contestants like Tess and Ally admit that they are rooting for Riya because she's the only one they interacted with throughout the show, meaning that they don't necessarily dislike James.
  • Literal Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Aiden about to fall from a cliff, after Riya refused to help him.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: At the beginning of the episode, Kristal isn't sure if she wants to host the show for another season, as she feels that her job changed her for the worse, and that she was sadistic and hurt people over the course of the season. But Oliver and Marcus assure Kristal that she is better than her father, and remind her of how she went looking for Oliver to ask him for forgiveness, and how she defended Lake from her Abusive Parents.
