After waking up, Makoto and Gekkogahara find Asahina's body, only to find out she is not really dead, but Gozu was the real victim instead. Kimura, Andou and Izayoi meet again and re-start their long time fight.
- Divided We Fall: The group seems really weak, once they are fighting amongst themselves instead of dealing with the dire problem.
- Foreshadowing: A minor example, but Asahina's death in the opening and in episode 2 had several differences: She was stabbed in the wrong place, with a different knife and was wearing different clothes. Granted, while the deaths in the opening aren't literally how they should end up, but it was enough to raise eyebrows.
- Sacrificial Lion: The Great Gozu, who died after becoming The Big Guy to Makoto's group and defending them against Sakakura.
- Troll: All indicates that the Traitor is this: They fake Asahina's death just to shock Makoto while really focusing on taking out The Great Gozu.
- Wrong Genre Savvy: Makoto realizes that he needs to bring everyone together to figure out who the killer is, but fails to realize the game is different, and was purposely made so people wouldn't trust each other.
