Tropes
- Anguished Declaration of Love: JJ gives one to Reid to appease the UnSub. She later clarifies that he'd been her first love, but has since moved on.
- The Bus Came Back: Joy hasn't been seen for several seasons, but makes an appearance at her father's fourth wedding.
- Call-Back: All the way back in "L.D.S.K.", when he's fighting hard to make a qualifying score as a marksman, Reid learns of Hotch's ankle-holstered backup weapon. He ultimately took that lesson to heart. Also counts as a 13-years-in-the-making Chekhov's Gun, though Reid states he only started using it after his time in prison.
- Chekhov's Gun: AKA Hotch's ankle holster.
- Chekhov's Skill: Unsurprisingly, Reid's 100 score on the shooting range isn't an idle factoid.
- Continuity Nod:
- Foreshadowing: Luke is both the first and last person Penelope dances with at Rossi's wedding.
- Real-Person Cameo: Rossi's best man is Johnny Mathis.
- Surprise Pregnancy: Matt learns his wife is pregnant for the fifth time.
