Sick and Evil
An UnSub kills families who live in houses she considers to be haunted houses, since people have been killed there. She believes them to be infected by evil, a property of haunted houses, and wants to stop the spread.
Tropes:
- Arc Number: Not a specific number, but whatever number of times the original dwellers were stabbed, that's the number of times the will stab the new inhabitants.
- Bait-and-Switch: Patrick is set up to look like the UnSub's delusion, but he's real.
- Demonic Possession: The UnSub's delusion is that her victims, who live in houses with a violent history, have been infected by the evil within the houses.
- Flashback: Rossi to his encounter with Lynch in the previous episode.
- Red Herring: A girl named Courtney shows up at the crime scenes before news of the murders even get out.
- Wham Line: A woman yells up the stairs at her kid to turn off the bathwater tap. The kid steps out from the room behind her on the ground floor and says
It's not me, ma.
