The Sahara Region is the second region investigated in Criminal Case: World Edition.

Encompassing the countries of Morocco, Libya, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Iraq, the Sahara Region primarily focuses on the Bureau tracking and chasing down The Sword, an assassin working for a Nebulous Evil Organization called SOMBRA who killed Chief Ripley in the finale of the previous region and now is uniting groups of extremist rebels and terrorists all over the desert so they can spread chaos and become another cell for SOMBRA.

    Cases Set in the Sahara Region 
  1. Murder by Proxy: An US embassy attaché is shot with a poisoned dart in the docks of Morocco.
  2. Death in the Desert: An oil magnate is strangled and burned within a nomadic camp deep in the desert.
  3. Killing Spring: A rebel leader is shot in the head in an oasis near Libya.
  4. I Spy a Mummy: A supposed fruit vendor is mummified in an Egyptian pyramid.
  5. The Parting Shot: An arms dealer is shot at a rooftop golf course in Dubai.
  6. Die by the Sword: A kidnapper is beheaded with a sword inside of a bombed museum in Iraq.

Tropes:

  • "Arabian Nights" Days: You do meet camels and belly dancers in this region, though the latter turns out to be a Deep Cover Agent.
  • Arc Villain: The Sword AKA Omar Bahir, an assassin responsible for murdering Chief Ripley who is now spreading extremist ideologies all over the Sahara so people will become rebels and lead an uprising towards foreigners and people in power.
  • The Chase: The main focus of the Sahara Region is pursuing The Sword while they keep leading you deeper and deeper into a trap they've set for you.
  • Crossing the Desert: To the point the Additional Investigations for the Sahara are called Crossing the Desert, as they involve the Bureau following The Sword's lead all over the deserted region.
  • Powder Keg Crowd: One of the main focus of the Sahara is defusing the tense situation between the government and the people, who are being stirred up by The Sword to rebel against them at the slightest provocation.
  • Professional Killer: The Sword, the main antagonist of the region, is this in addition of also being a Rebel Leader.
  • Recurring Character: The main recurring character for the Sahara Region are Omar Bahir, Jonah Karam, Asal Hawaa, Benjamin Scott, Sultan Mahmoud, and to a lesser extent Jessica Stern.
  • Running Gag: There's one involving Lars covering in Mummy Wraps a random object almost every case, from an orange to a teddy bear and even a chicken.
  • Thirsty Desert: The Sahara is depicted as an extremely dangerous region here, with wars, undercover assassins, extremist rebels, and terrorists all over the place, waiting to strike down at any moment.
