Jones returns from his absence to join the player at the University. Not a moment too soon, as they come across economics professor René Narcisse stabbed to death in the cafeteria.

- Asshole Victim: René was such an odious prick that every suspect has a solid motive for doing him in.
- Awful Wedded Life: Isabella loved her husband, but admits he would do things like wig out if she spent more than $100 on groceries.
- Earn Your Happy Ending: Julian's case. After being found guilty of murder 5 years ago while being a minor, people started to treat him as nothing more than just a criminal (even the victim of the case, who told him that he would never be in the university due to his criminal record). It's thanks to Gabriel, Ramirez, and the Player's help (fixing the admission paper with new stuff, convincing Dean Walker to let him ingress, and finding a lucky amulet) that he finally joins college, finding happiness again.
- French Jerk: Professor Narcisse.
- Improvised Weapon: René was killed by being stabbed in the jugular with a fork.
- Know-Nothing Know-It-All: For all of René's talk about understanding economics, he managed to absolutely obliterate his and his wife's retirement savings in the stock market.
- Meaningful Name: Narcisse is the French translation of Narcissus, where the term narcissist comes from. It fits René to a T.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Isabella didn't mean to kill René, she just lost it. Once she snaps out of it, she's horrified by what she's done.
- The Narcissist: It's clear René is one of these as you learn more about him. It is in his name, after all.
- Never My Fault: When Isabella confronted René over losing their retirement savings, he had the gall to ask her to be more understanding.
- Rage Breaking Point: Upon hearing René ask her to be more understanding about losing their money, Isabella, who has been putting up with him for 35 years, snaps and stabs him with the first thing she can find.Isabella: Me! More understanding! I've dealt with the man for 35 years, and he thinks I could be MORE understanding! I just couldn't take it anymore!
- A Sinister Clue: The first thing revealed in the Killer's Profile is that they are left-handed.
- Throw the Dog a Bone: Gabriel helps Julian get admitted into the University after René so cruelly said he wouldn't have a chance of doing so.
- Who Murdered the Asshole: René tried to implement a dress code just because he didn't like Dorothy Kix's shaved head look, wanted to cut the budget for philosophy classes because he considered philosophy useless, upsetting his colleague Kevin Charles, told Julian that the university would never accept a "delinquent" like him, wanted to fire his TA Gregory for being too friendly with his students, and not only was condescending towards his wife Isabella regarding finances, including but not limited to losing his temper at her for spending what he thought was too much money on groceries, but also lost all of his and his wife's money in the stock market and didn't even acknowledge his fault in it.
