While patrolling the beach during your night shift with Frank, both of you come across the body of Becky Walden, the Camera Fiend you've met in multiple previous cases, frozen to death with liquid nitrogen.

- All Love Is Unrequited: Becky was in love with Zack, who as we learnt in his previous appearance, is gay, so she cried when she saw him kissing a guy and accused him of deceiving girls.
- Back for the Finale: Zack Taylor, Derek Stone, Roger Strout, and Lenny Spitfire reappear as suspects in this case, which is the last one set in Ocean Shore.
- Black Market: Roger had a pet octopus he showed to the tourists as entertainment. He lost it when a drunken Becky ran away with it, but you manage to encounter it in a gift shop safe and sound... only to find out it's a very rare species of octopus Roger tried to sell on the animal market.
- The Climax: For the Ocean Shore district.
- Coconut Meets Cranium: In the Additional Investigation, a monkey throws a coconut at Zack before mugging him.
- Continuity Cameo: Two for members of the Grimsborough Police Department: in the Beach scene, a seaplane with a banner reading "We miss you Jones" can be spotted, whilst in the Gift Shop there's an US postal stamp with the face of Chief King.
- Dying Alone: According to Zack, this is what hurts him the most about Becky's demise.Zack: Sadly, I don't think anybody will miss her. Ugh, I don't wanna die like that: alone and unloved.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: This is how Russel manages to identify the "angry mermaid" Becky drew on her receipt.Russell: Everything you do is a reflection of your inner self. In the drawing, the mermaid is threatening your victim. This proves that she has a short temper.So when looking through the employee records, I found one waitress who kept getting into fights. A certain Eva Sanchez. She's your angry mermaid, <Player's Name>!
- He Knows Too Much: Derek killed Becky because she couldn't keep her nose out of anyone's affairs. When she photographed him selling drugs, this ended up being the breaking point for him.Derek: I make my money because people here want to have a good time. They want drugs. This is what makes Ocean Shore.And that's why people know to turn a blind eye... But not Becky! She was always taking pictures... of EVERYTHING!So that girl had to go: she didn't belong here!
- Insufferable Imbecile: Almost every suspect you encounter (except for Zack) saw Becky as this. She stole Roger's pet octopus, sabotaged Lenny's performances to make people stop giving him money, purposefully angered Eva by telling her she was not a real mermaid then made her a laughing stock by posting memes of her, and meddled onto Derek's drug business. When you talk to Zack, he tells you everyone hated her.Frank: Huh, and of course, it was created by Becky. Why did she have to anger EVERYBODY in Ocean Shore?
- Kill It with Ice: Becky was killed by being frozen to death with liquid nitrogen.
- Lampshade Hanging: Frank notices how strange it is that almost all of your suspects are people you've met before in the district, which is something that always happens in final cases.
- Last Episode, New Character: This case introduces Eva Sanchez, a waitress at The Little Mermaid night club, as one of the suspects.

- Judge Dante says that, in his time as a judge, he has learnt one of the most important things to do is never leaving your pudding unattended.
- When investigating the monkey attack on Zack during the Additional Investigation, Frank says this:Frank: Terrorized by a monkey... Aaah, good times.
- Odd Friendship: Popular life guard Zack Taylor with geeky and lonely Camera Fiend Becky Walden, who was also her Only Friend.Frank: We have trouble believing a popular guy like you would be friends with a geeky girl like her.Zack: She was always alone and I felt sorry for her, because everyone hated her. So I tried to cheer her up a bit: it's what I'm good at.
