Written & storyboarded by Lamar Abrams & Charmaine Verhagen

To try and stop Xavier, the Stump Trio visits his house and meets his brother Kenneth, who explains the story of how the King came to be.

Tropes:

  • Bad Boss: After the Sugar Swipers escape, King Xavier yells at Maya, asking where she’s been. When she tries excusing herself, King Xavier doesn't want to hear any more of it. Despite the fact that he told her to help out demolishing the ramps.
  • The Bus Came Back: King Cheyenne, Randy, and Michelle return after their last appearance in "The Rise and Fall of the Green Poncho."
  • Call-Back: The episode sheds some light on Kenneth's side of the story of how the other side of the creek formed, as revealed in "Fan or Foe."
  • Disproportionate Retribution: For failing to make the 10 Speeds' halfpipe on his first try, King Xavier has it and all their ramps demolished.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Kelsey predicts that if more kids leave the Creek due to Xavier's cruelty, it will be abandoned like it was after the Capture the Flag war. This make Craig realize that the only way to defeat Xavier is another game of Capture the Flag.
  • Face Palm: Cannonball when he watches King Xavier wipe out on the halfpipe.
  • Foreshadowing: Jason's status as The Mole for Craig and their side of the Creek is foreshadowed in even this episode. Watch closely, and you will notice Jason puts the clipboard up to his face to protect his eyes from the smoke bomb before Kelsey and the others can even reach for their pockets. He knew exactly what they were going to throw.
    • When Xavier has his elite guard destroy the ramps, Jason is frowning in the background.
    • Jason glances back to Cannonball and the other 10 Speeds with a look of sorrow on his face when he leaves with Xavier.
    • Jason looks incredibly nervous before they run into the Sugar Swipers. At the time, there was no reason for him to look that nervous. However, once a viewer knows he’s been double crossing Xavier, you come to understand he’s nervous because he knows there’s about to be another confrontation with the Sugar Swipers and he wants it to go well.
    • Jason looks down on the King's marking on his wrist with pure regret and doubt. Even when he’s doing this for the greater good, he still feels remorse.
    • When Xavier yells about how the Sugar Swipers always seem to know where the candy is, Jason glances up at him, probably trying to gauge if Xavier is figuring it out.
  • For Want Of A Nail: Kenneth's Kingdom all started because the city constructed an overpass in the Creek which prevented Kenneth from visiting the Elders. Then he would later meet kids who loved his cosplay, and the rest is history.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Feeling like they have no other option, Craig plans to defeat Xavier with a game of Capture the Flag, despite what happened the last time it was played at the Creek.
  • Internal Reveal: Kenneth tells the Stump Trio that he used to be friends with the Elders of the Creek, something the audience already figured out from the ending of "Fan or Foe".
  • Just Like Robin Hood: Kelsey, J.P., and the former Honeysuckle Rangers have formed a resistance, stealing candy from King Xavier and giving it to various creek kids.
  • La Résistance: Kelsey, J.P., Raj and Shawn have formed a resistance movement, the Sugar Swipers.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: This episode reveals that Craig wasn't grounded by Nicole for what she thought he did to Xavier. (He said "I think I'm grounded" in the previous episode, not that he was definitely grounded) Craig simply stayed home because he was too upset about what happened, and Nicole simply gave him some space.
  • Royal Brat: Kenneth points out the difference between him and Xavier as kings; while Kenneth's parents were strict with him, Xavier, as the youngest, got away with everything. Kenneth also notes that, while he was made king by his friends, Xavier being king is the only reason he has friends.
  • Smoke Out: The Sugar Swipers use smoke bombs to hide their tracks. When Maya arrives to confront them, she gets blindsided by the smoke bombs, and by the time the smoke clears, they are gone.
  • There Can Be Only One: While going to confront the Sewer Queen, Xavier comments that while he doesn't care about the sewers; there can only be one royal in the Creek.
  • Toilet Paper Prank: Kelsey considers TPing Xavier's house if talking to Cheyenne doesn't work.
  • "Wanted!" Poster: King Xavier has posted pictures of Craig all over, warning others "Don't play with this kid!"
