Craig has tried to convince his family to get a dog for years but has never been successful, but he may have a chance if he follows the guidance of Brigid and her three step program.

Tropes:

  • Bag of Kidnapping: After discovering Annie didn't get a dog thanks to Brigid's advice, she was just walking someone else's, the Stump Kids get sacks pulled over their heads by Brigid's goons and come out inside a dog carrier.
  • Broken Record: Brigid gives Craig a poop bag dispenser full of papers with words that he must read to his parents and will result in them giving him a dog. The papers only read "I want a dog", so Craig endlessly repeats them until his parents freak out and send him to the hospital. The next day, Craig tells his friends that he kept saying it even there, thinking the doctors would prescribe a dog.
  • Chekhov's Skill: Kelsey and Mortimor's "pet trick", where she regurgitates birdseed and gets him to eat it off her tongue, comes in handy later when the trio are locked in a dog carrier. After getting her to regurgitate more birdseed, Craig applies it to the carrier's hinges, so that when Mortimor tries to eat it, he ends up pecking out the pins holding the hinges together.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Brigid puts on a dog costume, J.P. assumes she was actually a dog who took off a human costume.
  • For Your Own Good: Brigid comes to believe tricking her followers into pampering her like a pet is doing them a favor, because it's the next best thing to having an actual pet. Surprisingly, several members end up agreeing with her.
  • Pinky Swear: Craig arrives just as Brigid was about to pinky swear the other followers into taking care of her forever.
  • Pseudo-Crisis: The dog carrier the Stump Trio are locked in is balanced on a rock over the Creek, making it seem they would drown if they moved too much. After they get out, the carrier falls anyway, revealing that part of the Creek is only inches deep, though J.P. acts as if they almost died anyway.
  • Scam Religion: Brigid's seminars are less overtly-religious than the Freddite cult, but they're much more of a scam, getting people to pamper her by pretending it will teach them to get their own dog. She even has ranks that members ascend as they do more for her.
  • Sequel Episode: This episode follows up on "Dog Decider", showing Brigid has formed a new dog-based movement.
  • Stomach of Holding: Kelsey keeps a supply of birdseed for Mortimor in her stomach, which she regurgitates on demand twice in the episode. Getting it out the second time appears to require considerably more effort.
  • The Tape Knew You Would Say That: When Kelsey calls Brigid's flyers weird, the next flyer reads "These are not weird."
  • Widely-Spaced Jail Bars: The Stump Trio are locked in a dog carrier, but don't reach for the lock even though their hands could easily fit through the bars. Strangely, Mortimor's entire body can fit through them to pull out the pins from the hinges.
