Unable to make tough decisions, Craig decides to put his choices in the hands of a dog named Fred.

Tropes:

  • Covers Always Lie: In-Universe. Craig picked Burning Justice as a rental because it looked like an action movie, only to find out that it was a boring court drama about a guy suing for burning their mouth on tamales.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Craig and his friends are attacked because he decides to go against Fred's decision.
  • The Ditherer: Craig spends too long on random decisions, and so has Fred's licking decide all of them. One of Fred's owners has the same problem, which results in his girlfriend dumping him.
  • Divorce Assets Conflict: Fred's owners break up because she didn't like living in the suburbs, and she takes Fred with her when moving out.
  • "Everybody Laughs" Ending: Parodied.
  • Freudian Excuse: The reason for Craig's dithering is because when he was allowed to pick a movie to rent when he and his siblings were staying with their grandparents, he picked a movie that looked like a hardcore action movie, only to accidentally ruin their weekend with a boring court drama.
  • Ignored Epiphany: When Brigid asks how they will make decisions with Fred gone, Fred licks Brigid's hand, which Craig thinks means people should make their own decisions. Instead, Brigid thinks she's supposed to be making everyone's decisions now.
  • Rejected Marriage Proposal: Fred's owner, in a fit of desperation, asks his girlfriend to marry him after she moves out and takes Fred. This is after they were having problems with their relationship. She stops the moving van, and demands his phone so she can erase her contact information.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Craig tells his friends to run from the Freddites at the end of the episode.
  • Stop Worshipping Me: In a variation, Fred's owner yells at the Freddites to stop worshiping his dog.
  • Takes a Third Option: Craig can't decide whether to buy a pair of binoculars or an RC truck with the $20 his aunt gave him, so he takes it to Fred. Fred chooses the binoculars, but then Craig sees a Rhino action figure and buys that instead. When Fred disappears the next day, the Freddites blame Craig for it because of this.
