Kyle, Wanda, and Dante, about to...form a Prayer Circle.
A Plot: After one of his regular teammates gets injured, Davis tries to get Brent to join his rugby team, but Brent’s more focused on inventing a new rugby chant.

B Plot: Hank and Karen convince Lacey to start selling pizza in the Ruby.

C Plot: Emma volunteers herself and Oscar to temporarily house some members of the opposing rugby team. Wanda also volunteers, but doesn't get the muscular men she was hoping for.

  • Amusing Injuries: Davis claims that his teammate got injured by trying to milk a goat and getting kicked by it, and now he has to re-learn the alphabet. It's portrayed by the show as a joke.
  • Bait-and-Switch: When Wanda's odd, older, initial guests Vern and Gayle comment that the youthful Kyle and Dante aren't into the same kind of fun as them, Wanda pictures the men doing sexy things. As it turns out, Kyle and Dante are religious buzzkills, and Vern and Gayle were the exciting ones.
  • Batman Gambit: Originally being blackmailed into serving pizza, when Lacey is threatened by the "Foo Mart" family, she decides to keep selling pizzas out of spite. Specifically, a "Royale" version that's secretly just Foo Mart frozen pizzas with a high up-cost. When Hank and Wanda find out and reveal it to the other customers, Lacey states that now nobody will want to order the food that she didn't want to make in the first place.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Wanda's unhappy with her odd, tea-drinking guests, and manages to have them switched with the hot ones the Leroys' are housing. However, they turn out to be too religious for her tastes, and she learns in The Tag that her old guests were actually fun people that were drinking Rum Hot Toddys.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Hank's pizza order is basically Macaroni and Cheese served on pizza dough, with cut-up hot dogs and ketchup instead of tomato paste. However, multiple people end up ordering the same thing when it's one of the only two types Lacey sells at first (with the other being Karen's Chicken Kiev pizza).
  • Blackmail: Lacey is originally against making a pizza for Hank or Karen, but hearing them talk about it leads to her cooking one for herself, which Hank catches on camera and uses to force her to sell them.
  • Blatant Lies: To convince Davis and the Leroys that she needs to switch houseguests, she says that one of them is allergic to fun...but she meant to say fungus...except that, since a fungus would make it ill-advised for anyone to stay in the house, she really meant to say funky down pillows. Davis still decides they're better off safe than sorry and approves the switch.
  • The Cameo: SportsCentre’s Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole play Kyle and Dante, two members of the rugby team playing against Davis's crew.
  • The Family for the Whole Family: The family that owns the local "Foo Mart" have been watching a lot of The Sopranos (to the point of advertising how it's being streamed in Canada), and end up taking on this role when Lacey's pizzas start competing with the frozen pizzas they keep in stock.
  • The Fundamentalist: After Wanda's able to switch her guests with the Leroys', she's dismayed that their pre-game ceremony is praying instead of partying.
  • Gangbangers: Brent tries to convince Zeke to join the rugby team by saying it'll help prevent him from becoming one of these (in addition to Brent immortalizing him with the chant he'd rather spend his time writing). When Davis rejects this plan, wanting Brent to play due to his lower center-of-gravity, Zeke considers actually joining a gang.
  • Imagine Spot: Wanda has one of Kyle and Dante washing a car shirtless.
  • Incredibly Lame Fun: Kyle and Dante certainly enjoy their prayer circle more than Wanda does.
  • Interrupted by the End: Immediately before the credits, Wanda gets upset at missing all the fun with Oscar and the guests she turned away, saying that she'll "pray that Satan steals their souls", causing Oscar to remark "That's a pretty dark way to end a-"
  • Kinky Cuffs: Wanda asks Davis if she can borrow his handcuffs after she manages to convince everyone to let her host Kyle and Dante, though she rescinds the question after Davis is confused why she'd ask.
  • Nostalgia Filter: Oscar is originally against housing company, but his talk about the "good ol' days" Kyle and Dante were too young to have lived through ends up enthralling them and boosting Oscar's ego.
  • Punny Name: The rugby team from the town of Kinderly, playing against Davis' team, are the Kinderly Surprises (named after Kinder Surprise Eggs, a candy/toy brand). And like their namesake, they're banned from the USA.
  • Rousing Speech: Subverted; when Brent has second thoughts about playing in the rugby match, Davis gets the audience to root with the chant Brent made to convince him to play...but then he sees who they're playing against and goes with his original instinct.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Brent's reaction when he sees how strong Kyle and Dante on the other team are. Down to just three players again, Davis's team just calls it a day and heads to the bar.
