When Numbuh 3's very first Rainbow Monkey toy breaks down, 3 is convinced to enroll her precious toy into a Rainbow Monkey retirement home. But there may be something amiss...
This episode has examples of
- Berserk Button: For Numbuh 3, per usual, harming her beloved Rainbow Monkeys. So much so that Numbuh 5 has to physically remove her from the building.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Numbuh Three physically shakes a grown man around and has to be dragged away by Numbuh Five when she suspects he's done something terrible to her rainbow monkey. Then she very nearly takes out the antagonist by herself. All with a furious glare on her face.
- Blatant Lies: When Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 5 visit the Rainbow Monkey retirement home to check on My-First-Rainbow Monkey, the manager there tells them to their faces that he's never even seen them before, even though he personally gave them the tour the other day.
- The Cameo: Numbuh 100, Chad, and Numbuh 362 appear during the Time-Passes Montage when it gets to when Numbuh 3 was inducted into the KND.
- Chekhov's Gun: The heart-shaped button Numbuh 3 sews onto My-First-Rainbow Monkey while she patches him up. It later plays a part when she finds it as a cereal box prize, alerting her that something is wrong here.
- Continuity Nod: Nurse Claiborne has had a Two-Faced appearance ever since she got hit in the face with her own pinkeye-inducing water balloon in "Operation: P.I.N.K.E.Y.E.".
- Freudian Excuse: Numbuh 3 was given her first Rainbow Monkey toy literally right after she was born, thus beginning her devotion to the brand.
- Heroic BSoD: Numbuh 3 after leaving her first Rainbow Monkey toy at the retirement home. Even Numbuh 5 floating the idea of getting her own Rainbow Monkey (her first one ever) doesn't shake Numbuh 3 of this funk.
- I Ate WHAT?!: Numbuh 3 is horrified to learn that Rainbow Munchies cereal (which she had been eating previously in the episode) is made with ground-up Rainbow Monkeys.
- "I Can't Look!" Gesture: When Numbuh 3 accidentally sends Nurse Claiborne into the same shredder she put her rainbow monkey, she and Numbuh 5 quickly cover their eyes, not wanting to see the aftermath. Luckily Nurse Claiborne is spared that particular fate.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Nurse Claiborne nearly falls into the enormous grinder used to turn Rainbow Monkeys into cereal, only to find herself at Numbuh 3 and 5's mercy. They then force her to sew all of the shredded toys back together. Not just My-First-Rainbow Monkey, all the Rainbow Monkeys.
- The Stinger: The guy in charge of Rainbow Monkey Bingo is on his last nerve as nobody has called Bingo. And then he hears a disembodied voice call out "Bingo!"
- Stupidest Thing I've Ever Heard: On the subject of a retirement home for stuffed animals, Numbuh 5 is in the process of saying just this, but Numbuh 3 interrupts her and calls the idea brilliant.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Nurse Claiborne was barred from being a nurse at every school. Not surprising, given how she knowingly infected several students with pinkeye and fed the crust from their eyes to healthy ones.
- Time-Passes Montage: The episode begins with this, showing how Numbuh 3 got My-First-Rainbow Monkey on the day she was born, and how he's been by her side through the years.
- Unusual Euphemism: Numbuh 1 tries to explain that it's time for Numbuh 3 to throw away My-First-Rainbow Monkey by saying that sometimes, in life, things have to be "decommissioned". Naturally, this doesn't help.
- Whole-Plot Reference: To Soylent Green.
- You Called Me "X"; It Must Be Serious: Other than Wally, Abigail calls Kuki by her first name when she has to physically drag her away.
