The aftermath of the Avalon's arrival inexplicably leaves Lelouch, Optimus, Euphemia, Kallen, Suzaku, Dreadwing, Rai, Bumblebee, and Nonette on the mysterious Kamine Island, where they must not only await for help from their respective sides, but also fend off an attack by a vicious group of Cybertronians.
- Birds of a Feather: Optimus and Euphemia hit it off right away, sharing kindhearted and compassionate natures.
- Bullying a Dragon: V.V., despite his immortality, marches right up to Megatron, a 30+ foot-tall transforming alien robot, and tosses his weight around. It ends with the boy incinerated by said robot’s fusion cannon.
- Don't Ask: While Zero, Kallen, Rai, Suzaku, Nonette, and Euphemia were hiding from one of the Insecticons, Rai compared the Insecticons as worse than Scraplets. When Euphie asks out of curiousity, Zero and Kallen's response was just that.
- Enemy Mine: During the reunion, the teams end up facing off against Kickback and four Insecticons.
- Internal Reveal:
- Optimus explains to Lelouch and Euphemia his backstory as former archivist Orion Pax, Megatron's rise to power, Cybertron's origin thanks to Primus and Unicron, and the Matrix of Leadership.
- Suzaku learns that Kallen and Rai are Black Knights.
- Oh, Crap!: Rai, upon sighting the first Insecticon on the cliffside.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Three of them, in fact!
- When Kallen is captured by Suzaku and Dreadwing, she rips a new one into Suzaku, calling him out on his inability to take responsibility for his actions and failures while pinning the blame on others, ignoring the atrocities committed by Britannia and the Decepticons, and killing his father.
- After capturing V.V. and having Shockwave subject him to the Cortical Psychic Patch (henceforth learning of the Ragnarök Connection), Megatron calls him out for allowing his immortality to get the better of him and defy Charles' orders, severely underestimating the Decepticon leader, as well as the Autobots.
- Starscream calls out Suzaku for constantly disrespecting him, disobeying him, and hesitating to kill enemies, after the Black Knights and Autobots escaping from Kamine Island with the Gawain proves to be the straw that breaks his back. He also delivers one to the Britannian army as well.
- The Reveal: Rai is a prince of Britannia, and his full name is Kaizaren von Britannia.
- Spanner in the Works: Optimus destroys the Kamine Island Thought Elevator, much to V.V.'s rage, and thereby disrupting Charles and Marianne's plans for the Ragnarök Connection. A smirking C.C. gets a crack in on that's what Charles and company get for underestimating the Autobot commander.
- Villain Respect: Schneizel was impressed by Optimus' prowess upon witnessing him destroying the Thought Elevator.
