Kallen, Arcee, Rai, and Bulkhead are assigned to secure a polarity gauntlet before the Decepticons get to it.
- Adaptation Expansion: This is one of two chapters that take place during the Time Skip between Cheering Mao and Nunnally Held Hostage.
- Combination Attack: Kallen and Rai use this with the Guren and the Gekka's Radiant Wave Surgers on two occasions; one to free themselves along with Arcee and Bulkhead from the polarity gauntlet's effects, and the second to prevent Airachnid from escaping with said gauntlet.
- Determinator: Shirley is determined to join the Black Knights - primarily due to not wanting to stand on the sidelines anymore while her friends risk their lives fighting against Britannia and the Decepticons, regardless of her lack of exposure to warfare. Even Lelouch's attempts to dissuade her do absolutely nothing to change her mind.Kallen: She was practically begging us, Lelouch.
- Divided We Fall: Suzaku, Breakdown, and Airachnid ultimately lose to Kallen, Rai, Bulkhead and Arcee in spite of the fact that the latter four were in pairs stuck together due to the polarity gauntlet because they never attempt to coordinate their strategy.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: When Shirley joins the Black Knights, Lelouch has her regulated to a non-combat role, partially because he doesn't want her to get hurt, but also because she doesn't have any combat training and isn't equipped emotionally to handle killing.
