Ruth's too big bowling shoes have made her trip and slide down a gutter lane into the inner workings of the bowling machinery! Can the Captain save her before Wendell bowls a strike?

Tropes in this episode:

  • Bowling for Ratings: Ruth calls the Captain to help in the bowling alley due to her getting stuck in bowling machinery after she mistakenly wears bowling shoes that are not the size of her feet.
  • Defeating the Cheating Opponent: Due to his destructo ball having a fatal error and shuts down just before he was about to do his final strike, Wendell was forced to use a bowling ball with Milo inside it which he then throws to his lane. Milo then kicks the pin that Ruth was stuck with, which then throws him to the floor, popping out of it. Since Wendell didn't use a real bowling ball and instead used a ball that has a kid inside of it (as Milo was meant to only use it to save Ruth from being stuck in bowling machinery), he got exposed and scammed for cheating as a result.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: To prevent Wendell to do his final strike with his mega destructo bowling ball before it hits Ruth, Lizbeth tells Milo that she found all of the controls for shutting down the lanes in a room which she orders him to get in there. Although he misheard her as although she was pointing to the room with the controls, he was thinking that she was pointing at an open bowling ball, leading him to go inside of the ball so she can bowl him over for a gutter ball, so he can burst out of the ball and save Ruth in the lane that she's stuck in. Turns out the planned has actually worked as Milo kicks the pin that she was stuck in and Wendell got exposed for cheating after he pops out of it, as he didn't use a real bowling ball for his strike.
  • Sticky Situation: To distract Wendell from using his mega destructo bowling ball (which he just activated maximum destruct mode which can split a bowling pin in half) in order to save Ruth from being stuck in bowling machinery, Milo decides to take some stuck gum under a table and chews it, so he can spit them out into his destructo ball. Just when Wendell was about to bowl over the lane that Ruth is stuck in, his hand gets stuck in the ball, causing him to hit all of the pins in every other lane in the alley, except for his alley.

Whack-a-Max

Max falls into a Whack-a-Mole-type game, and oblivious big kids are coming closer and closer to bonking him with the giant mallet as he randomly pops up from the holes! Will the Captain save him in time to see Ruth open his carefully chosen gift?

Tropes in this episode:

  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: After the Whack-a-Mole game goes faster, it causes Max to start getting very dizzy and is about to throw up. This led to the Narrator to mention that he should do it during the next two minutes while we're not looking.
Max: I think... I'm gonna... throw...
    Milo: No, Max! Don't!
Narrator: No, Max, don't! Or... ok if you just do it in the next two minutes while we're not looking. Ok? Ok!
  • Cash Lure: One of Milo's failed solutions to get Max out of the Whack-a-Mole game was him using a dollar tied to a string to distract the big kids from playing the game as once they retrieved it, they continued playing since the dollar he used was real money.
  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • To distract the big kids from playing the Whack-a-Mole game in which Max is stuck in, Milo uses fake bugs to make the big kids whack them instead of playing the game. He then uses his paddleball to bounce the ball over to Max, so he can grab it to pull him out of the game. Unfortunately, the game is rather unpredictable as he keeps popping in and out of the different holes, and after Milo accidentally hits a button in the game with his paddleball, it causes the game to start going faster causing Max to start getting dizzy, and eventually, the big kids decided to continue playing.
    • Milo then uses a dollar tied to a string to distract the big kids from playing the game but it backfires when they eventually retrieve the dollar to continue playing the game. Turns out the money that he tried luring the big kids was actually real money and not a fake one.
    • Since big kids like to eat pizza, Milo uses a pizza magnet to attract a pan of pizza to give to the big kids as they have to drop their mallets in the game in order to eat it. Unfortunately, after he did just that, they decided to hold on to their slices on one of their arms and continue playing instead since he thought that they need two hands in order to hold a slice of pizza.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Milo uses his "Bird Brain" as all he has to do is open the box. However, he misheard Lizbeth as she meant to open the box inside of the game to get Max out, as Milo was thinking of opening the deluxe authentic made-for-real fake human hair mustache disguise kit that he gave to Ruth, to disguise himself as an adult. He then tells the big kids that they were playing the game for too long and wants them to leave so that the other kids will have a turn, which they eventually did, stopping the game in the process, freeing Max from the game. Turns out that Ruth mentioned that most boys gave her lots of junk for her birthday like the aforementioned disguise kit that Milo gave to her, which she believes that he thought that she would want this, so Milo and Lizbeth gave her a box of girly stuff instead.
  • Pun-Based Title: The title is a pun on "Whack-a-Mole".
  • Suddenly Shouting: After Ruth takes a long time trying to open her presents as she keeps wondering what could they be, Lizbeth then yells back to her.
Lizbeth: You know, uh, this could take a while.
    Milo: I know.
[Ruth shakes one of her presents]
Ruth: It's so in sort of rattly inside!
Lizbeth: We could miss all the fun waiting for her. LOOK HOW'S SLOW SHE'S BEING!
    Milo: Huh, I could wait.
[Ruth continues to shake her present]
Ruth: I wonder what could it be!
Lizbeth: IF YOU JUST OPEN IT, YOU'LL KNOW!!
[the rest of the children in the table prompts her to be quiet by shushing her]
Lizbeth: Boy, right now could I ever...
    Max: Uh-oh! Flamingo!
Lizbeth: It's a kid! In trouble!
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: Max throws up off-screen once he got out of the Whack-a-Mole game that he was stuck in, which got him very dizzy.
