The fortieth episode of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, in which Team Lightyear goes on a mission to investigate the disappearances of spaceships on an obscure planet. What the team discovers is that the culprits are manta-like creatures called Shriekers whose hostility against technology have stranded the survivors under the leadership of a man named Flint.
Tropes associated with this episode include:
- Bad Boss: Flint is a tyrant among the villagers, forcing them to work non-stop.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Flint completely dominates most of his fight against the Space Rangers thanks to his Super-Strength. That is, until Buzz turns it around.
- Foreshadowing: Several hints are slowly discovered about the Shriekers' true nature.
- How Did You Know? I Didn't: When Flint's secret base explodes, Mira manages to use her Tangean powers to save her teammates, leading to this exchange:Booster: Gee, Mira, I didn't know you cold 'ghost' three people at once.
Mira: (Woozily and fatigued) Yeah, came as a surprise to me too. - Humans Are Bastards: Flint's Start of Darkness. Having been abused by his masters far too long, Flint leaves to fulfill his goal in enslaving organic lifeforms. However, that falls moot when Flint uses robotic Shriekers to attack fellow robot, XR. It's little wonder why XR doesn't believe it.
- Robotic Reveal: Flint and the Shriekers.
- Spanner in the Works: XR is the one who takes down the Shriekers for good after he uses his jamming system to fry them.
- Special Guest: Mark Hamill as Flint.
- Terminator Impersonator: Flint might be this, as both characters are humanoid robots with brown hair and a glowing red eye. Both characters also stage a rebellion against humans.
