On a trip to her home planet, Plum's strict parents catch her and Chris partaking in forbidden nums, forcing Chris into a fight to the death with Plum's jealous ex.

This episode includes examples of:

  • Arranged Marriage: On Plum’s planet, after a woman goes through her Life Match Celebration, suitors line up to ask the woman’s father for her hand in marriage. Meaning, that Plum will be married shortly after this coming of age ceremony.
Chris: But marriage should be about feelings, not centuries of tradition and parental pressure.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Plum’s dad telling Concierge that he did what he asked and that he hopes it was worth it.
  • Cock Fight: When she hears that Chris has to fight in a ceremonial battle for Plum’s hand in marriage, Quince jumps at the chance to be his opponent and take out her rival for Plum’s attention. Wanting to impress Plum’s dad and make sure their fake Life Match works, Chris gives the fight his all as well.
  • Duel to the Death: After breaking the household rules of no nums before marriage, Plum’s dad sentences Chris to fight to the death with Quince.
  • Fake Relationship: Chris fake proposes to Plum and acts as her Life Match in front of her parents in order for her to not have to marry a random suitor.
  • Faking the Dead: While it first appears that Chris actually killed Quince during their fight to the death, it’s later revealed that Quince was just faking it as part of her and Plum’s plan. Plum knew Chris would never be able to beat Quince and impress her dad, so they decided to fake her death. They didn’t tell Chris because he’s such a Bad Liar.
  • Finish Him!: When Chris blasts Quince with his Eye Beams, Plum’s dad yells at him to “Do it! Finish her!”. Chris, however, refuses.
  • Foreign Queasine: The food served at the ceremonial feast is very alien and even still moving, which grosses Chris out.
  • Grand Theft Me: Quince tries to feed Chris juice that would force him to swap bodies with her so she could hook up with Plum.
  • I Ate WHAT?!: Trying to be supportive of the traditional Merewifian meal, Chris gobbles down a giant shrimp…only for Plum to inform him that he just ate her grandma.
  • Insistent Terminology: Chris has to keep reminding Plum that they’re pretend Life Matched, which she nonchalantly brushes off.
  • Rite of Passage: Chris goes with Plum to her home planet for her Life Match Celebration, an event that marks her transition into womanhood.
  • That's No Moon: As Chris is talking about how great he is with parents while leaning against a floating table-like object, the object then moves and starts talking, revealing itself to be Plum’s father.
Chris: Plum, why is your dad furniture?
