Together with Eagle, Captain of the Police Troop, I protect and take care of the Blue Doctor. I'm the priest of the Lezak District.

Teacher: It's great that you're taking care of other peoples' happiness, Randy, but what about your own?
Randy: What, me? Getting married? Cut it out. I'd hate to be tied down by someone. And most importantly, for a priest who can't abstain from drinking and smoking, and whose on the verge of getting kicked out of the priesthood like me... it's not possible to get married.
Teacher: It seems that you aren't very well aware of your good points. Even if you're on the verge of getting kicked out of the priesthood, the most important thing is to have the trust of the people. Without that, you can't be a priest. Or is it that you already know all that, and you're just ignoring it?

Randy awakens in the temple and prepares for another day of serving the Lezak District. Jessie is already in the courtyard scrubbing laundry and getting ready for the day's rounds, and she asks if she slept through morning service again.

During the morning Randy teaches religion at the district's elementary school. His fanciful descriptions of the gods draws the ire of the principal, who chastises him for teaching the children "blasphemy."

Over lunch, Randy tells Jessie to accompany him to the marriage ceremony he's officiating in the afternoon so that she can bless the couple. When she protests that she can't fit it into her schedule, Randy tells her that Eagle will be stopping by to cook them dinner, distracting her long enough to get her to agree. A Granny who cooks at the temple chastises Randy for dragging Jessie away from lunch and wasting food.

At the marriage ceremony, a clean-shaven Randy officiates for the nervous husband and beautiful bride. Jessie presents the couple's earrings for exchange and blesses their union with health — she enjoys taking part in the ceremony, but the earrings of the newlywed couple remind her of the earring Eagle still wears. Randy sticks around to drink at the reception after Jessie ducks out to complete her afternoon rounds, and he ends up speaking with a friend of the bride who happens to be a teacher at the same school where he lectures. She compliments him on his ability to make the lessons fun for the children, and on his care for his congregants. Randy defers, joking that he's nearly bad enough to get kicked out of the priesthood. The teacher earnestly compliments him again, saying that the trust of the community is the most important thing.

In the evening, a drunken Randy returns to the temple to find Eagle and Jessie cooking dinner. He passes out in the dinning room, but wakes up long enough to hear Eagle admit that sometimes he feels jealous of Randy's ability to put people at ease. Jessie and Eagle eat a quiet dinner together, while Randy shuts his eyes and returns to sleep.

The Volume 3 Omake Provides Examples Of:

  • Day in the Life: The Omake begins with Randy waking up and ends with him falling asleep, showing what a typical day is like as he ministers to the spiritual health of Lezak.
  • Fantasy Pantheon: Randy teaches a class on the three gods of the Silkdeep Empire to a group of schoolchildren:
    • The God of Sand, Sajin — also the God of Beauty, who guides souls into the afterlife. Information about Sajin appeared largely in Chapter 10, during Natasha's funeral service.
    • God of Water and Healing, purportedly the ancestor of the Blue People who grants their blood curative powers.
    • God of Sun
  • Funny Background Event: The father of the bride gets progressively drunker and more sappy as the wedding and reception go on.
  • He Cleans Up Nicely: Randy shaves off his Perma-Stubble, slicks back his hair, and wears a clean set of robes when he officiates for the wedding of a local couple. The wedding guests all take notice:
Guest 1: He seems like a different person when he performs ceremonies.
Guest 2: You're right! If only he was like this under normal circumstances too, he could even get a wife!
  • Loose Canon: Based on Jessie and Eagle's familiarity while cooking, and the fact that Eagle is still wearing his wife's earring, the omake likely takes place after Chapter 4 (when Eagle first cooks for Jessie and Randy) and before Chapter 11 (when the events that kickstart the finale begin in the Capital). The exact timing isn't made clear, but it can't take place during the events of Chapters 6 through 7 (as Eagle was in the Capital during Chapter 6 and Mira was rescued in Chapter 7), and it can't take place during the events of Chapter 8 through 10 (as the drama surrounding Natasha's sand sickness and kidnapping left no time for casual dinner). That leaves gaps between Chapters 4 and 6, Chapters 7 and 8, or between Chapters 10 and 11 when the bonus story could have taken place.
  • Paper Fan of Doom: The school principal slaps Randy with a paper fan for teaching the children "blasphemy."
  • Perma-Stubble: Randy can't keep his face clean shaven for more than a few hours.
Jessie: Ah, look, Eagle! The beard that he shaved off at noon is already growing back.
  • Yonkoma: The volume ends with two Yonkoma that make fun of events in Chapter 12 and Chapter 15.
    • In the first, Rowan is so moved by Jessie's voluntary return to the Garicalege that he offers her an entire rack of cute dresses to wear. This explains her numerous costume changes after she leaves the Capital and winds up in the Garicalege's clutches.
    • In the second, Randy comments on how awkward it is to Third Wheel Jessie and Eagle as they stare lovingly into each others' eyes, topless, while lying in bed.
