Go To

The group deals with jealousy in different ways.

Tropes:

  • All for Nothing: Matthew broke up with Aiden to pursue Jay. Unfortunately, Jay decides to be Charles' sidepiece. Matthew name drops this trope after Jay does this.
  • Bait-and-Switch: When Nick goes to Greg's place, there's smoke that Greg claims comes from a skunk. It first appears to just be Greg trying to cover his drugs. Then it turns out there really is a skunk, and it's doing drugs in Greg's apartment.
  • Eye Scream: Played for Laughs when in Matthew's jealous Imagine Spot, he yells very loudly which causes Coach Steve's eyes to melt, which he is happy about. When the Imagine Spot ends, his eyes are back.
  • Flowery Elizabethan English: Maury talks this way this episode when with Matthew due to Mr. Keating "making him horny for Shakespeare".
  • Green-Eyed Monster: The whole episode is about people getting jealous, hence the episode's title.
  • Imagine Spot: Several characters imagine doing destructive and violent things when feeling jealousy.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: Mr. Keating closely resembles his voice actor Adam Scott.
  • Internal Reveal: Nick finds out about Jessi's crush on Judd.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Andrew's sub-plot is loosely based on Dead Poets Society, to the point of having a teacher named Mr. Keating.
    • In Mr. Keating room's, you can see colorful cones on his desk, a reference to the board game Adam Scott's character created on Parks and Recreation.
  • Yandere: Andrew becomes disturbingly obsessed with Mr. Keating, and tracks down his home and threatens his fiance in private after demanding he love him and think of him when having sex with his wife. This is all played for laughs as Mr. Keating becomes traumatized enough that he can't help but think about Andrew while trying to consummate their marriage.
