Tilly Style

When Tilly is mistaken for a baby, she tries to reinvent her image to appear more mature, while Cricket stages an uprising about his dislike of zucchini.

"Tilly Style" contains examples of:

  • Animation Bump: The part where Cricket scoots the chair across the floor and flops down backfirst to charge the Bintendo Twist are much more fluid than his past actions.
  • Be Yourself: What Tilly learns in the end.
  • Bring the Anchor Along: Since he can't leave the chair until he eats his zucchini, Cricket simply scoots around on the chair.
  • Continuity Nod: Bill is shown working in the Big Coffee roof garden, which was started in "Level Up". Cricket also still has the Bintendo Twist Remy gave him.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Cricket doesn't like zucchini, but was willing to eat it when the family had to get rid of the surplus. However, after six days straight he can't stomach any further helpings of zucchini.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: After one of Nancy's customers repeatedly calls her a child, Tilly starts seeking out the respect of her peers by constantly changing her look. Eventually, after Nancy catches her as a elderly speedwalker, she tells her not to change herself for the sake of others.
  • Embarrassing Tattoo: Nancy refuse to show Tilly her first tattoo because she's embarrassed about it. She finally shows it to her and it turns out to be of a skateboarding pig on her ankle with the caption "Radical Pig". She's embarrassed because she only got it to impress others.
  • Exact Words: Bill forbids Cricket from leaving his chair until he eats his zucchini. So Cricket decides to take the chair wherever he goes and do everything but eat zucchini.
  • Face Doodling: Tilly draws wrinkles on her face as part of her old lady costume. She wisely uses dry erase markers rather than permanent ink.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While both Bill and Cricket do acknowledge that Cricket was being a "turd" about this, Cricket isn't wrong that, regardless of whether or not he likes zucchinis, anyone would be tired of eating it if they did it for six days straight. Bill acknowledges that Cricket did more than enough and lets Cricket go from his punishment.
  • Mock Meal: Bill tries to trick Cricket by making a burger, fries and a cake out of zucchinis.
  • Picky Eater: Cricket refuses to eat zucchini because the family has been eating it six days straight. It should be noted that while Cricket doesn't like zucchini in general, he, by his own admission, is capable of eating it, just not for that long.
  • Plot Hole: There's a "no running" rule in the mall, yet in "Photo Op", the Greens were seen running multiple times and yet, they did not get in trouble for it. Also when Tilly's disguise is removed, she starts running, yet she does not get caught. Word of God says this is because the events of "Photo Op" led to the "no running" rule being put into effect by this episode.
  • Rule of Three: Tilly changes her look 3 times, from a sparkly tween, then to a businesswoman, and finally to a elderly speedwalker.
  • Stock "Yuck!": The zucchini. The family has had it for six days straight, and Cricket can't take it.
  • Trapped at the Dinner Table: Bill forbids Cricket from leaving his chair until he eats his zucchini. Cricket gets around this by dragging the chair around wherever he goes.
  • Trojan Veggies: After growing too much zucchini, Bill can’t sell it all and is forcing his family to eat the surplus. After nearly a full week of this Cricket refuses to eat anymore and goes on a hunger strike. Bill tries to get him to cave by offering him a burger, fries, and a cake… made entirely out of zucchini. Cricket, of course, isn’t fooled for a moment since all three are bright green.

Domo arigato, Mr. Farmboto.
I, Farmbot

To get out of doing chores, Cricket purchases a farming robot, but this causes Bill to miss out on what he truly does.

"I, Farmbot" contains examples of:

  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: The Farmbot ends up going berserk and trying to take over the farm. Apparently, this isn't the first time this happened either.
  • Big "YES!": By Cricket when Bill decides to buy the Farmbot.
  • Bob Ross Rib: Gramma watches a Bob Ross-like painter on TV, painting a barbarian warrior.
  • Book Ends: The episode starts with Cricket and Bill at Overhaüls where they purchase the Farmbot, and ends with them at Overhaüls returning him.
  • Breather Episode: Both this segment and the previous serve as a major breather before what happens in the next...
  • Call-Back: When watching Gwendolyn's hologram ad, Bill brings up the time they almost sent the Kludge to Mars. She is currently in her Mars vacation home during that episode.
  • Continuity Nod: The hardware store Overhaüls from "DIY Guys" returns.
  • Curse Cut Short: When Cricket is astounded by F.R.A.N.K., he appears to say "Oh, my g —", but digs his face into Bill's chest before he could finish the last word, almost as if he was appearing to say "Oh, my God."
  • Day Hurts Dark-Adjusted Eyes: Happens to Bill when Tilly and Gramma bring him outside after becoming lazy.
  • Foreshadowing: Bill actually predicts what will happen after purchasing the robot. "Huh, it would allow everyone a little more free time. I wouldn't know what to do with myself."
  • Fun with Acronyms: The Farmbot is named F.R.A.N.K. (Farm Robot Assistant Network)
  • Gone Horribly Right:
    • Cricket gets the Farmbot for Bill to help with the farm and give him more free time. Unfortunately, he doesn't know what to do with himself and ends up pestering the others.
    • Cricket teaching Bill how to relax works too well, making him too lazy to do anything but sit and watch TV.
  • Jet Pack: Cricket tires to use a leaf blower as one. He gets interrupted the first two times; on the third time he succeeds, but mostly manages to drag himself through the yard.
  • Job-Stealing Robot: The Farmbot Cricket buys ends up doing all the work around the farm, resulting in Bill losing his sense of purpose and eventually becoming a couch potato.
  • Noodle Incident: Bill returns the Farmbot, explaining that it tried to take over his farm. The clerk says "that's been happening a lot."
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: F.R.A.N.K.'s eyes turn red when he turns against the Greens.
  • Written Sound Effect: Cricket's attempt to use the leaf blower as a jet pack results in him being plowed along the yard, leaving the word "OW!" in cursive on the lawn.
  • Unfulfilled Purpose Misery: After the robot takes over the farm work, Bill finds himself losing his sense of purpose. It gets worse when Cricket tries to help him relax only to make him into a couch potato instead.
  • Use Your Head: On the montage of "tools" the Greens use, Gramma tries to hammer a nail with her head. All she does is ram a hole through the wall.
