"What are you creatures doing on my ship?"

Following the beginning of Ben and his team's investigation of the alien conspiracy, Labrid is killed in action during a battle with the Forever Knights. Before dying, he encourages Ben to continue the mission. Gwen uses one of the DNAlien weapons to track them down, which leads to the team discovering their hideout - inside an abandoned mine, in which there's a spacheship. There, they meet with the masterminds behind the conspiracy - the Highbreed.

  • Alien Blood: Labrid informs Ben that the blue liquid coming out of his suit is “not water”.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: A single Highbreed is both Strong and Skilled, which leads to him utterly beating the crap out of Kevin and Gwen, as well as easily overpowering Humungousaur.
  • Darker and Edgier: Best exemplified here with Magister Labrid being a Sacrificial Lamb and Ben’s injuries in alien form not being healed when he turns back.
  • Early Instalment Weirdness:
    • One of the Forever Knights speaks with a Brooklyn accent, which stands out compared to how every member in later episodes is an Evil Brit.
    • Echo Echo speaks with a deeper voice that gets a Voice of the Legion effect added. Later episodes let Dee Bradley Baker speak with a slightly high-pitched voice with no modulation.
  • Elaborate Underground Base: The DNAlien's hideout and spaceship is inside an abandoned mine.
  • Foreshadowing: The Higbreed in the mine going ballistic when Ben as Humongousaur bites him, hinting at their motives for attacking Earth.
  • Heel–Face Turn: In the previous episode, Kevin decided to work with Ben, Gwen and Labrid because the Forever Knights didn't pay him. Here, he gets saved by Labrid, who dies later in the battle. This makes Kevin join the team and become a good guy from now on.
  • Killed Off for Real: Labrid gets shot during the fight and dies for real.
  • Minor Crime Reveals Major Plot: The minor crime was revealed in the previous, while here the major plot is that the Highbreed are planning something.
  • Robotic Reveal: Downplayed. When Echo Echo blasts the Forever Knight dragon with a sound blast, it gets dismantled and revealed to be mechanical.
  • Team Hand-Stack: Ben, Gwen and Kevin do this at the end of the episode.
